People love throwing around the term "homophobe" as if it had some sort of negative connotation, yet you dont hear the term "homophile" in every day conversation. It, like everything else, is a choice.

I think I would fall into the 'other' category as I dont have strong feelings either way. But then some would argue there is no middle ground.

"Racist" is used in the same manner as "serial killer", but since it's intangible, it's hard to defend against, so free speech gets stifled out of fear of being branded a racist(serial killer)

I don't get it. A serial killer is very simply someone who kills more than 3 people. You don't get branded a serial killer. You either are one or you aren't. There's no such thing as a slur where you go around calling people serial killers and discriminate against them.

They don't use homophile because well that's redundant when talking about homosexuals. Supporting gay rights is not the same as being into being gay. There are a few straight people that could possibly qualify as homophiles, but most just are supporting equal rights for all people.
