Well, if you go by the word of some psychologists, the more intelligent, more "in-tune" with the world, and the happiest people on the planet, are most likely to have a handful of "I'd kill or die for them" friends, as opposed to a lengthy list of acquaintances.
Personally, I definitely accept the fact that I am introverted. I would like to have more time with my close friends, perhaps find a few more friends to get close with, but schedules don't always work out that well. But in general, I prefer my alone time and am happy with it. But there comes the time when it's also like "all right, I need to get out and do something, anything."
I don't think I could entirely live like a hermit/recluse, but the majority of the time I'd be most comfortable emulating such; so long, that is, as I can get out and enjoy friendship and social entertainment on an infrequent basis. More often than not, I don't want to be around people.
I'm just so cynical I hate most people. That naturally restricts the amount of people I'd even care to be friends with, and it also limits how often I want to be surrounded by such types.
