You can't talk about old-school 3d PC games unless you're gonna at least mention Ultima Underworld...

7. The flying skull monster in Doom II was called... -- Lost Soul
8. The company which developed first great 3d accelerators for gamers -- 3dfx, R.I.P.
9. And, finally... When was Duke Nukem Forever released? -- Never, and proly never will be (Trick question, sorry boys)

Bah, this isn't an old-school PC gamer test, its a mid-90's FPS trip down memory lane.

xcom, xwing, myst, and rebel assault. now those are old skizzy.

Not compared to the stuff I asked

Edit: Doh, mixed up X-Com with another game, can't remember what that was called (you were walking around with a group of soldiers and had to search for aliens to kill or capture, had to capture their weapons and technology, and had to watch out for their mindcontrol)

I remember that game as well....hmm I think I still have it. Its an EA game, that's for sure; did you guys ever figure out the name? It was part text-based and your squad were little-green dots. There was a space flight element as well; blasting baddies hulls and boarding Raider ships was fun stuff.

Chiz

Edit: I think "Interceptor" was part of the game name...or was that the ship......

I loved Archon. Kick-ass game.

This thread makes me feel a bit old, having some kid talk about Wolfenstein 3D being old. I still have my original 5 1/4" floppies of the original Apple IIE Castle Wolfenstein and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein.

Old School???

I was thinking you would have questions about Kings Quest and other old Sierra games. The Ultima series, Wing Commander series. This is more like the Old-School FPS Quiz.

Well, considering I've never been a big fan of FPS I don't know most of those answers. I do consider myself an old-school gamer though based the facts that I started "computer" gaming on a TRS-80 (Tomb of the Pharoah or Pharoah's Tomb, can't remember exact title) and I played a ton of Bard's Tale on my C128....Red Storm Rising (and most Microprose games it seemed) was an awesome game, wish I could find it for my PC.

I mostly liked 3d games which is why this test is a 3d oriented one.

If someone wants to create a really really old school 2d or text-game test, go ahead
