I'd say acting on attraction to a 16/17 year old if you're older than 19/20 is starting to get into the range of a real creeper. You have to understand, at that point, you're looking at high school sophomore/juniors dating college sophomore/juniors. At that point, the advantage is just stacked on the older person so that in many cases, the older (lets face it's it's almost always a guy) guy can take advantage of the younger teen.

For example, a 22 year old doing something with a 17 year old (legal age of consent in IL) would be someone that I would in all likelihood not hang out with since that would be a pretty messed up thing to do (In my view).

a 40 yr old being attracted to a 15/16/17 is understandable. the creeper part is if they try to date them.

now im not saying they can't be on a friendly bases but the adult has to set and know the boundries.

for instance i have known the kids (lol 16yr old girl adn 18 and 20 yr old boys) since they were well born. They all come over every now and then to kinda check on me (i have some sever health issues) and help me with stuff if i need it Or if they get a new computer or TV or such they come over to show it off (or drag me over therE). while they are my "friends" they also know i won't buy booze, smokes and will tell there parents if they are doign something stupid.

I think its pretty much human nature to be attracted to the opposite sex that is physically matured. Ages differ.

However it is the responsibility of people in general to have the sense to understand that is not usually coupled with emotionally matured. Though not all teens are WTFBBFJILL LOL MALL OMG BECKY DID U LOOK AT HER BUT ROFL ROFL types.

Indeed, some 15-17 year olds have a hell of alot more sense and general experience in this world than alot of 20somethings I know. Its kinda sad!

I think when it comes to teacher/student, it should remain strictly professional. Definitly in highschool and mostly in college settings. Its just kind of a mature way to handle relationships in general. There are plenty of ways of meeting people through fundraisers/bars/beach/community center etc then to compromise the structure of relationships in professional settings.

Hard to define "child" here. Nothing wrong with being attracted to a 16-year-old who is hot. A 13-year-old, on the other hand? Creepy.

You could define a child as someone under 13, an adolescent as being 13-17, and an adult is 18+, but you could just as easily say that there's a fuzzy boundary between child and adult around ages 14-16, depending on how fast that person develops, mentally and physically.

Age of consent is 16 in my state, but I'd never do anything with an <18 year old girl. It's not the physical development (most 16-year-olds look like adults, not like children at all), but the mental development. Teenagers are too immature.

There is another thread questioning the innocence of children and it seems pedos are starting to become a dime a dozen. Yet no one comes out and says they are attracted to them.

Not only is it illegal in most states to have relations with people under 17, but its morally wrong. Of course defenders of pedophilia will say that hormones arent guided by age, but I say its wrong to took at a kids privates when they walk by. Thats just sick and sends the wrong message to the next generation that their ONLY value is sexual.

You're doing an awful lot of generalizing in this post, probably just for flamebait and to start shit. Newsflash: MOST people are NOT sexually attracted to prepubescent children.

In stating that "it's morally wrong" to "have relations with" (we're mostly adults here, you can say fuck on the intarweb you know) people under 17, you are making the assumption that morality is absolute, that it's the same for everyone everywhere in the world, and that your particular version of morality is correct.

In an evolutionary sense a 16-17 yr old girl is clearly sexually developed. A person can make a clear logical argument about how terrible it is for a 50yr old man to be attracted to a 17 yr old girl, but logic has nothing to do with sexual attraction. Attraction is based on our instincts and has little to do with logic. Being sexually attracted to a 16-17 yr old girl is completely natural whether someone wants to admit it or not.

However, looking at the OP I see that he/it/whatever it is who posted it regards people under 18 to be children. Myself, I regard them as prepubescent. Of course, I'm attracted to gorgeous 17 year old girls. I think that anyone who says they are not attracted to people under 18 is either sexless or a liar.
