Are you getting a next gen console on launch?

Xbox One for me. Why? Because it's all about the games... Forza, Dead Rising, and Ryse are the exclusives that have my attention. There are no exclusives (at launch) on the PS4 that interest me in the least.

I'm sure I will eventually have both, once there's a compelling reason for me to want a PS4.

I am mildy inclined to finally get a ps3 for some exclusives I missed.

This has been tempting me as well, but I'm waiting to see what Sony does with their Gaikai service - in theory they are going to stream some PS3 games to PS4. I'd prefer to skip the PS3 in favor of Gaikai/PS4 if it actually works.

I am getting a PS4; just cancelled my Xbox One pre-order. I used to own a PS3 and I own a 360 currently; I like both of them, though I've always preferred the PS3 controller, but I also kind of liked the Kinect (apparently I'm the only one).

This is the first time I've purchased a console at launch and I'm oddly excited for it. Really looking forward to trying out Knack and also playing some FIFA, even though I know it's not truly a PS4 title. Went with a buddy to check out the PS4 version of FIFA at the Sony store and he said it looked a lot smoother than his PS3 version; who knows though.

If the Xbox One and Kinect in-particular does some interesting things, then I will consider buying one of those a bit later too.

i saw fifa on x1 this past weekend and knack on ps4. i was impressed with fifa as far as graphics go. looks a lot smoother like your buddy said and definitely higher resolution. knack on the other hand left me very unimpressed. it looks like a ps3 game. the demo is rumored to be the e3 build though, and i sure hope so. it was running 30fps regularly but it dipped below 30fps regularly, without much going on at all on the screen. the gameplay looked extremely boring as well. like i was waiting in line to play, but after 3-4 minutes of watching i just left because i didn't want to waste my time.

I just picked up Rayman Origins a week or two ago after playing a demo for Rayman Legends. The game is a blast with 2-3 people like we've been playing it.

yeah i love platformers. ratchet and clank is probably my favorite series of recent, played all of them on ps3 and expect to get the new one next tuesday. knack reminded me of r&c somewhat from the style of it, but after seeing it, it left me unimpressed. i also think the part the demo shows off is a bad demo, they should have picked something better. knack was the only exclusive at ps4 launch that had my interest, and it it pretty much gone now that i've seen it in person.

that said, i still might keep it with the ps4 i got from taco bell lol.

yeah there are some games i regularly play (well not much recently though) on 360 that will keep it hooked up for quite some time. probably will unhook my ps3 though. definitely going to get rid of my wii, might just throw it away lol. i haven't turned it on since i moved to my new house, which was 2 septembers ago.

Didn't plan on getting one at all this year so didn't preorder. But the closer it gets I know I am not going to be able to resist Forza. I'll likely pick on up at retail before Christmas depending on how stock is.

I'm selling my 360 but keeping my PS3 because of all the free PS Plus games I have to play. So I'll have my PS4 and PS3. Then sometime early next year, I'm getting Xbone, most likely when Titanfall comes out.

It kinda sucks, I am trying to offload $500+ of stuff (originally retail) and on craigslist so far not getting any bites at it under $200, so I'll keep dropping. At least I know it's worthless; there are some people on CL asking $350 for xboxes with a large HD and a maybe 1-3 new games, a gross overprice.

I just realized that I am not playing it that much and if I can get $100-150 toward a ps4 why not.

Don't know why I'm excited about this with no launch games I really care for.

Maybe my first launch day console since the PS1 and I just haven't enjoyed the smell of a new game system in a long time.

I might pick up Knack and Killzone and one other random game just to take advantage of that buy 2 get 1 sale everyone is talking about. Though I'm likely to blow through a couple $100 grabbing some 3DS and Wii U releases I'm behind on. I'm not super excited about either game, but hate to just have a new system on launch with no games.

I reserved and then picked up my PS1 launch morning, September 9th 1995. I picked up Toshinden and Kileak just at random, in the long boxes, a second controller, and two memory cards. What I was really excited about and picked it up for, was seeing screen caps of Arc the Lad in EGM. Hung over on the relentless RPG assault from SNES, seeing a Final Fantasy III looking game in gorgeous 16.7 million colors...

It never came out here. I ended up importing a Japanese copy and playing it years later. It didn't come to the US until Working Designs localized it and released it in 2002. 7 years later.

Of course there were tons of other games that set the PS1 in stone for me in those 7 years, I just shake my head, that the game that 3 screenshots made me put my money down on a PS1 without a second thought, took 7 years to actually get here.

At least the Working Designs release was a complete compilation with all the follow ups too.

Even without any really good launch games, the PS1 was an exciting launch. Revolutionary. The demo disc alone was awe inspiring at the time. The first dedicated CD based system that wasn't a poorly supported addon... well the Saturn was a few months earlier but it just kinda came and went without making any noise. Sigh.

Friday 15th: pick up PS4, get Knack, Killzone, and ???? Buy 2 get 1

Friday 22nd: Pick up Zelda 3DS XL + Zelda physical copy, Super Mario 3D World, and Mario Party Island Tour

11/22-12/1: play some f'ing video games all week long and eat turkey

Oh and pick up a 5th bookshelf to hold all this new shit. 3DS library is starting to get big enough that it needs a shelf by itself instead of squatting the DS section. Might let my nephew enjoy the PS4 while I zone out on Mario 3D World, Sonic Lost World, and Link Between Worlds back to back)
