how dare you call computer gaming "frivolous"!!!
j/k I quite agree. 3 expensive monitors = fail, this will be just like physix in that a few hard core junkies will buy it but most of us will just drool at other people's setups.

No thanx.

Why not just hook up to one single large monitor?

As of now, it is. 11 for and 14 against. That's 44% in favor.
Another thing you need to consider is everyone already has a screen. In my case, if I want to do it, I will just buy two more comparable screens to mine and only have $400 invested.
And, the added real estate when non-gaming will be very, very nice.

people will use the bezel as a con against Eyefinity ?.
...but honestly, when watching the person playing the Stalker Eyefinity setup, it seems really easy for me to get adjusted to the bezels and not be bothered by it

I can certainly see how people could be excited about running 3-6 monitors. But I have absolutely no interest in it personally. What does excite me is that the new cards have enough power to run new games on 6 monitors, so running games on my single 26" monitor should be quite easy... I see a lot of AA and high frame rates in my future.

Sure it may run, but at what FPS? I need benchmarks...60fps or no thanks.

I guess we'll have to wait and see the benches, but considering how well my 4870 does, if the rumors are to be believed then I'm sure a 5850 or 5870 will give me plenty acceptable performance levels.
