I just got back from looking at them for the past hour outside my apartment (gainesville, FL).. There's way too much ambient light to see most of the stars - but it was such a perfectly clear night/morning that the light didn't matter at all.
I saw literally 100's of meteors. I woke my brother and roomate up. My bro came out and saw one, said "cool", then went back to sleep.
I met a cutie neighbor looking at the meteors. Talked to her for probby a half-hour after the meteors were drowned out by the stupid sun.
BTW, I hate the sun. The sun ruins my sleep. It ruins many a party. Sun comes up too early!

I drove out with a few buddies to the illinois / wisconson border on the other side of rockford. Fricking bum-fluck land. Just got back.
Let me tell you, I drove about 2 hours out there, and 2 hours back. 4 total hours, and spent about 1 hr watching.
I would have drove 10 hours each way to do that again. It was fricking awesome. At times, it seemed that the meteors were overlapping tim time ( more than 1 in the sky at a point ) there were just 100's and 1000's of them.
some were different colors ( tinges of green, red, and yellow stand out in my mind.
I just leaned back against my truck, and put my head on the tailgate, and looked up. I could see from horizon to horizon, along with straight up ( moon behind me, which was friggin bright ) It was totaly aweome. Some would leave streaks that would last for a second or 2 ( maybe more like 3/4 of a second, but it seemed like a while )
I took a good 200 pictures with my camera, but have only looked though a few. I just pointed the camera striaght up, and clicked till it was full, had someone copy it over to my HD on my laptop, then clicked some more. I know I caught at least 1 meteor, as I heard the beep just as I saw it in the sky, and I am 9% sure the camera was looking at it. It was a wierd one that almost came straight down at us. Kinda looked like there were 3 or 4 of them all right next to each other, kinda giving it a "ball on a chain" look. Bright, bright white.
I am dead tired now, but I promise I will post the best of them when I wake up.
