'cos you're gonna have one in less than 2 years

How will America adjust to a female President? Discuss.

Firstly, I'm not so sure the next president will be a female. That said, I have no problem with a qualified female becoming president. And I DO believe there are females out there who are qualified. The gender of the candidate will have absolutely no bearing on whether they get my vote.

There won't be a female President in less than 2 years first of all...it'll be 3 years if one wins. Oh, and a female won't win, either.

I take it your post is based on the faulty (IMO) presumption that Hilary and Condi Rice will receive the nominations of their respective parties. Rice, in particular, will probably never run (or at least she's been quite clear she won't), and almost certainly won't as soon as 2008.

And our first gay or lesbian president?

I wouldn't have any problem with it. I worry about the specific issues, not what's between the legs.

Not to mention, Hilary would still have to get the nomination. She'll have to possibly win over Obama, Biden, Kerry....

If it's ever going to happen it's not going to happen any time soon.

Hillary will run, be selected by her party, and win the election. This is the only likely outcome.

No offense, but aren't you in Australia? It seems to me you're pretty presumptuous to assume you know more than Americans about the political climate in our country.

While I think the idea is a bit far fetched for now, I'd say never say never.
Besides, everyone already knows the next pres is gonna be Rudy.

I'm confident I know more about the political climate in your country than most Americans. But that's not saying much.

Consider also the possibility that those of us outside your country have a more clear-eyed view of the situation, due to our lack of emotional involvement in the outcome.

I don't think that Hillary will win, but it will have nothing to do with her being a woman.

and guys, get over it... Condi isn't running.

No way in hell he would ever get the nomination, though I agree he'd be likely to win if he did.

Hillary has a very good chance to win. She is centrist enough to grab the necessary votes in key states like Ohio and Florida.

It'll be Gov. Mark Warner of Virginia in 2008. He's got all the mojo in the Democratic side right now.

She's far from centrist...she just acts like it in the Senate b/c she wants to run for Prez in 08.

There will be a lot of Red State types complaining. We'll probably see a lot of closet misogynists come out of the woodwork.

Personally, I'll vote for the most qualified person, male or female, gay or straight, any color. Unfortunately, I'll probably won't get to vote for an atheist, but that'll be soon enough, I suppose.

Kerry lost to Dubya, there's no way the Dems will put him out there again. Kerry should have won easily, but he and his incompetent campaign team screwed it up. Isn't Biden the Senator from Household Bank? Obama is too new to politics to run.

Unbelievable.

The rules here prohibit me from fully summarizing my opinion on your attitude.

The sad thing is, he's probably right. Especially considering that, apparently, the only issue in '04 for a majority of Americans was gay marriage, even though neither candidate was for it.

Enough with the phoney indignation already.
