After playing the demo, definitely waiting to see how much they clean up the netcode before jumping in one this one. Plus, the game just feels...off. I was a huge fan of UT2K4, and this game has the look of a great sequel, but I can't get too excited about the gameplay. I'm thinking either they over reached on UE3, or they under reached, but maybe the retail version will surprise me.

They are going to re-do the interface in a patch.
The game is already boxed and shipped so it was too late for them to change it in the retail.
They got a lot of complaints about the way the interface worked and how the browser worked.

I think I saw the game pre-order at Frys for 39bucks. What do you guys mean by interface? What are they planning on changing exactly? I agree the browser just flat out blows, worst browser in the history of PC gaming.

They are replacing the game menus, graphics options in game, and the multiplayer browser to make it less console like and more pc.

Do you know the inside story? The User Interface and especially the Server Browser are below Epic's usual standards and quality.

Were they rushed to hurry it up and git 'er done by Midway or did they really think they did a good job with the User Interface and Server Browser? Are they planning to fix the Server Browser (as opposed to the generic "user interface)?

I sure hope that they listened to all of the complaints they received. It's very sad when, on your own gaming forums, a poll asking people whether or not they liked the Demo's server browser (about the same in the full version) resulted in about: 318 "I hate it", 18 "it doesn't bother me", and 4 "I like it" (the 4 were probably a joke).

I am a little reassured by Epic's announcement that they plan to improve it. Not sure if I want to wait for the game to get shipped to me from GoGamer in order to save $5 and get a t-shirt (which has little actual marginal utility to me). I might just go ahead and drop $60 for the Collector's Edition because I want to see the mapping tutorial on the DVD.

From the info I have they did not give the server browser much thought because they focused more on the game play and core game. There were certain things prioritized, things that couldn't be addressed with patches after shipping. I hear that the comments were to make something functional, get community feedback and change accordingly.

The t-shirts are great, already got one. Not cheap t-shirts , good heavy cotton material and the art work looks good.

Get the collectors edition. The tutorials I have seen are well done and can get people up to speed fast.

You've already received the T-shirt form GoGamer? Not sure if I want to wait for them to ship it, but what the hey, maybe I'll break down and order it from them before the weekend's over. I've actually done a couple UT99 maps and I'd consider remaking a couple of them for UT3. If the tutorials are more than just the basics it might be worthwhile.

Will only buy it if they fix the horrible UI. That server browser had less features than UT1, it was terrible. I am one of the people who bought UT, UT2003 on launch, and UT2k4 special edition thing, and am not really content with this UT at all.

Hopefully they fix it.

The size of the shirts I got are XL, not sure what the bonus offer size will be.
But again, they are nice shirts, not some crappy 1.00 walmart one.

The bonus material, movies, tutorials, is over 10 hours long !

Hm; well I think I might just go to gamestop because its local and I can get it on Tuesday. Unfortunately, there is no t-shirt included, just an unlockable character and a compilation of the older UT games. I'd like to get it early and create the profile with the username I want because I have heard that you can't change names, and if the name you want is already in use, then you're SOL

I'm not liking the UT3 engine. The horrible fog that hides low resolution textures and no AA support really pisses me off and hurts my eyes.
