Are you sticking with XP or going on to Vista?

I personally am going to stick with XP for longer, because my computer is running great on it and i see no reason to change over to the resource heavy Vista for at least another year (by that time I will be in college with a macbook (pro) and loving life.

So, are you going to stick with XP or move on to Vista? If you aren't, how long till you do, and if you are, when? Already? January, etc.

I'm holding out for at least another year and a half. Then I'm gonna build a new system, then I might go to vista.

There are going to have to be some compelling reason for me to go with vista---which will minumum costs $300 to upgrade on two computers---much better security might be one such reason---but many of todays viruses also infect vista.

So once again--despite all needs to the contrary--it looks like microsoft has done far less than the minimum.

Maybe its time to look to linux---if I can find drivers for all my devices---and I can find something that runs windows programs in emulation--however slow---why stick with microsoft?---at least the open source folks know how to get things right---and promptly fix problems without asking for six years grace and more money to do so.

Although I have had XP installed on the gaming system(s) for as long as three weeks a few times, I've always considered it a Microsoft boondoggle, intended to generate revenue for no real reason. I use Windows 2000 about 80 % of the time, some Windows98se, and a sizable use of Linux OSes as well. As already commented, if there is no "Killer App" (and there never has been one for XP), I just don't see any value for me in Vista. Eventually, I'll own at least one copy, but RCT-1 just didn't impress me at all.

I'll be moving to Vista on my main desktop for testing purposes. But I'll keep my laptop and all other machines Windows XP Pro for a while.

I will keep XP on my systems for at least 2 years because vista is ME.

I'm most interested in the Gaming matchup service built into Vista, so that Xbox Live users and PC users will be able to play with/against each other. Dunno why I would care, since I will never pay an online 'fee' just to play a game, as I'm sure MS will charge for that service on the PC side of things, but I do like the idea that a users platform of choice is not a hindrance to online gaming anymore.

I will problably be moving fulltime to vista. Aside from nvidia's drivers (which the 97.34 arent that bad) everything is smooth for me.
