arg...please help

I have erthlinks DSL into their broadmax modem. I have a netgear rp614 router connecting computers A and B.

I had been having some issues on computer B with pings in games and internet connectivity shutting down.
i uploaded all new firmware from Netgear. Rebooted (with a pin) and restarted both my modem and router.
I also tried different ports on the router with no effect

Now the wierd thing...Computer A is always connected, seems a little slow on the net, but it's connected.
Computer B, my gaming rig will connect to internet when I boot up, but usually looses it's connection after a minute or two. And when it does stay connected, my pings (wolfenstein and Et) are going crazy, from 70-400, I use to be stable at around 60.

Anyone have any diagnosis, why is my B connecting then dropping??Any tips before I try a new network card would be great.

Sounds like something is physically wrong. Try to ping your router and see if it's ping times are also highly variable. Also, replace the cable and see if that helps.

sounds like a good start Garion thanks. on that note is a 100' run to long to go from my router to computer B. i have (2) 50' cat 5 cables junctioned together...thnx

well thats what im wondering...both my local supply stores only had 50' foot sections. I'll try moving B closer to the router temporarily to see if it helps...

I wonder if you somehow have a junction that's screwing up the pairing of the lines, though it's hard to imagine it working at all. Clearly, that's the first thing to eliminate to see if it solves the problem.
