How can I get rid of the damn streaks on my LCD?!?!? I've tried 97% Isopropyl, the spray stuff from office max and just plain water all with a little micro fiber cloth...and nada!

It's driving me bonkers knowing that those streaks are there :-\

I use a little toilet paper with warm water and a drop or two of DAWN dishwashing liquid. Then follow up with a dry piece of toilet tissue. Works phenomenally. Screen always looks like I just took it out of the box. Leaves no streaking and does not harm plastic coatings.

This is OK for glossy screens too Keys? Is that what you meant by "plastic coatings"?

Apologies for a slight hijack but what would you use on a Plasma Screen to clear marks off? Is it a similar method to LCD's are are they more sensitive?

My bro spent a lot of money on the monster cleaner and cloth and I was putting off cleaning my lcd widescreen for fear of streaking. Just to let you know it worked absolutely great on cleaning it. You might pay a bit more for monster but it's worth the price.

What I'm saying is, it's an extremely "gentle" way to clean LCD's. I would think that something like alcohol may have some sort of degenerative effect on delicate plastic coatings.

I have not used this method on glossy panels, I never owned one. But it works very very nicely on standard LCD screens. I would trust it more than alcohol.

But I've used this method for years. My wife, mother, sister and some panels at work are all regular LCD's. And I used this method on all of them with excellent results.

Its also a long time running standard for cleaning high end screens. warm water and dawn are very gentle on things like LCD screens etc.. You will find many people on home theatre forums using the same forumla.

Warm water, little bit of dawn(dishwashing liquid), and elbow grease, and a none abrasve coth(NO Paper towels) like a terry cloth (very cheap at pep boys).

I too would be afraid to use alcohol or similar on any screen over an extened period of time.

Any amount of alcohol leaves massive streaks, it's garbage. Water + Soft Towel = No streaks. Only thing that worked for me. I hear good things about Monster Cleaner, but its unnecessary money spent.
