I'd like to hear some comments on this from the more experienced here on AT. I'm looking for an intro guitar as well.

For $50, this cannot be beat for an "intro" guitar. I spent $150 on my first acoustic guitar back in 2002 (I still play it every day), and I picked up another acoustic last year when Guitar Center ran a special where you bought $100 worth of strings and got a free acoustic (yet another deal that couldn't be beat).

Anyway, this is a spectacular deal for those who are interested in learning the guitar. Think about it...you'll only be out $50 if you decide you don't like it. However, if you decide you like playing guitar, you'll get to learn on a beater. When you finally upgrade to a "real" acoustic, you'll really appreciate (and understand) why they cost a bit more than $50.

Definitely still 49.99$

Make sure you're clicking the buy now link and not the buy link in the product details page.

This guitar is good for beginners. Cheap, but not so cheap that you'll get fed up and quit.

On another note, why the hell is there a poal at the top of this? I didn't put it there.

I believe the Aria has been that price before and maybe lower, so look
for it to pop up at this price either here are at the 123 site again.

As for the current $19.99 deal, not only is the discount reasonably
small, but that is a 1/2 size guitar, so unless you are looking for a
model for a child or as something to have autographed and displayed,
it may not meet your needs. Can't speak to the quality of the sound
from it.

These are very good guitars for the money ($50). They are made in China, but the quality of Chinese guitars has improved greatly in recent years. These are much better guitars than, say, the First Act cheapos you'll find at Kmart and the like.

That said, quality control tends to be mediocre, and it's always possible to get a lousy one.

IMO it is best to pay for a good entry-level guitar so as not to turn you off to playing. This is espically true for acoustic where if the action stinks and the build quality is mediocre then the purchaser will probably not be as eager to learn.

I my self bought a nice yamaha acoustic; it cost circa $400 but it was well made with quality wood, really good action and tone. It is my first guitar and I will never throw it away. With time I think the tone will mellow out and it's personality will be something I will look forward to when I play.

I guess I cannot speak for this guitar, it might auctually be a steal but I have found that for the most part budget guitars are a crapshoot so be sure to research before you buy, and remember that like many things better guitars last longer and retain their value.

Great to see stupid back from hiatus. As far as the guitar goes. I worry about buying anything like that without trying first. Specially in the low end. Its true they are much better than they used to be but some are always better than others and a few are still truly unplayable. I say bring a guitar playing friend and buy a used one somewhere if you can. If you get this have some one who can play check to see that it is tunable and playable. That said, Aria is one of the better names and hopefully kept some quality control.
