$17 million of public (state) money invested in it. Government funding of religion is against the very essence of the USA. Further, no gays, etc. allowed as employees, Christians only and single employees have to sign chastity oaths.

knee jerk reaction fail.

That picture looks like some dinosaurs came to see the fundamentalist exhibit. I can almost hear that kid breaking into "Sweet Chariot."
What if God gets mad at this thread and makes it rain for forty days and forty nights and the only people who survive are the ones on the Ark?
Some of the funniest comments in this thread have come from the traditional conservatives in P&N. We've found a way to bring us together, snarky commentary!

We tried that. We ended up with America.

Ooooh. Ouch, good point.

Good thing nobody believes that.

Of course, the sudden appearance and then subsequent almost instantaneous disappearance of a volume of water sufficient to cover the entire surface of the earth... That totally happened.

Where did it come from? Where did it go? God magic, of course! That's science!
Well, it was a bit of a downpour. Only in the range of 365 inches per hour or so for ~40 straight days. That seems quite reasonable considering that the record rainfall since weather has been recorded is about 16 inches per hour.

The thing that impresses me more is the heat from the sun that occurred during those months. Imagine how much more intense the sun was to have liquid water above the top of Mount Everest for that amount of time.

This intense sun rays would surely have lots of UV light which probably caused the evolution (that doesn't happen) to occur. Luckilly Noah's solar powered air conditioner of 100 cubits by 25 cubits (which for some reason doesn't get quite as much mention as the ark itself; much like Noah's compressed air bottles with masks for all the animals so they don't die from the lack of oxygen up there) was able to keep them all happy and healthy. And, luckily that gopher wood covered with flammable pitch doesn't burn in that intense heat.

My favorite one is to get around the fact an ark couldn't have fit enough animals to have two of every species they hand wave it away with just having two of every "kind" of animal and letting them evolve (heh) into their modern counterparts. Of course this means for 6000 years you'd have to see multiple speciation events per day, every day to create the diversity of animals we observe today. Which of course we don't.

It wasn't just two of every animal, it was two of every clean animal. There were seven (7) pairs of each of the unclean animals packed into the Ark, not just two, or one pair, as with the clean animals.

I live in Seattle. 40 days/nights of rain is an unusually sunny spring around here.

First its being broadcasting live from inside the Arc by some folks. Its being broadcast to Facebook not sure if they are doing anywhere else. Yesterday they broadcast for a couple hours from in side the creation museum, was hilarious,

Just think if they would of spent all that money on helping their fellow man instead of stroking Ken Hams ego. Sorry If I seem bitter but what a bunch of tools. Anyone with even the slightest bit of logic would relise the ark story as folks like Ken Ham (creationist) represent it is impossible. A fairy tale. Yet look at all those folks, scary world we live in.

BTW I have an idea if the ARC folds we could turn into a jail and put all the terrorist in it, or would that be cruel and unusual punishment? Or is the arc part in the Quran as well.

.

On the bright side, it's supposed to rain for a few more days.

Propaganda misinformation park appears to be a big success and an even bigger money maker! Smart business decision to prey on the gullible fools!

Hydrogen turning to people isn't a fairy tale though? The brains people have in their heads are just accidents and not put together for any reason. The fact that so many people believe that a microbe turned to people from not being able to replicate perfectly is proof of the spiritual realm.

Nobody has ever suggested such a thing in any seriousness.

The brains people have in their heads are just accidents and not put together for any reason.
They're put together for all kinds of reasons. Broadly, the organisms in the ancestry of human species have continued to feature reproductive advantages vis-a-vis their peers.

The fact that so many people believe that a microbe turned to people from not being able to replicate perfectly is proof of the spiritual realm.
HAHAHAHAHA!!!!

This is your brain on too much religion, folks.

There are thousands of peer reviewed scientific articles and books written in the topic if you are interested to know more. I doubt you care.

Duh. Those are works of the devil, obviously. Or man's fallen nature, or something. That's why they're proof of the "spiritual realm."

I wonder if buckwheat could conceive of something -- anything -- that could be evidence against a "spiritual realm." I very much doubt it, and that should tell you all you need to know about the integrity of his beliefs.

Peer reviewed by equally deceived people means what?

But we can be sure that you're not the "deceived" one... how?

Do you even have the faintest inkling of exactly which part these "deceived" people are "deceived" about?

Is it genetics? Heritability? Geology? Astronomy? All the above?

Is it more likely that the literal thousands if not millions of people working in the sciences all in broad agreement of the age of the universe and earth and the interrelatedness of biological organisms are all "deceived," or that you're just a dumb twat that refuses to be educated?

I doubt you care is correct then.
Peer review is only as valid as the peers reviewing the material. Do you put weight in peer reviewed creationist journals? The central premise isn't questioned in those peer reviews anyway, it is assumed.
