I dont underestimate plastics strength, I underestimate its longevity. Will these guns still work 10 years from now? What about 20? Will the frames start to crack or weaken? What about 50 years from now?

I own guns that belonged to my grandfather, and they are still in perfect working condition. I know they will still be working when I pass them on to my children. I am not sure about all these polymer guns, though.

Are we still using the same weapon we used in the 60's? Essentially, yes.
