You're waiting for proof from a teenager who says he designs "high performance engines"?

Hmm, either PCResources was resurrected after his untimely non-death in Afghanistan, or he had a bastard child.

I love Munchies' site.

Disclaimer....This website in no way resembles the final product of our goals. We might not even work towards it's completion, because since word has gotten out we have our hand full tenfold!

Call if you need parts, or a jobbie done.

EDIT: Damn, read that thread. No wonder Munchies decided to come try and argue about guns and ammunition, he was shown up in that car thread.

Don't underestimate plastics- <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://www.robot-club.com/rc/bullets.JPG

That's polycarbonate, they're probably using somethign tougher. Delrin, perhaps.

I dont underestimate plastics strength, I underestimate its longevity. Will these guns still work 10 years from now? What about 20? Will the frames start to crack or weaken? What about 50 years from now?

Are we still using the same weapon we used in the 60's? Essentially, yes.
You tell me.

I own guns that belonged to my grandfather, and they are still in perfect working condition. I know they will still be working when I pass them on to my children. I am not sure about all these polymer guns, though.

Yes. Maybe not 50 years, but at least 25 with a rebuild here and there.

Exactly. Guns take alot of stress, and voer time that can really bang them up. I dont know if these polymers will stay intact as time goes on. They could break down with age or suffer minor stress cracks from the shooting.
Even worse then the questionable effects of the 5.56 would be blowing the gun apart in battle because your polymers failed!!

Are we using *the* same weapons, as in manufactured in 1960?

Polycarbonate has one major weakness- UV radiation will kill it in about a year if left out. AFIAK, it's a very hardy plastic other than that. Even better if it's black Polycarb (most is clear). I wonder how much active service a gun would have to see to accumulate a year's worth of sun... depends on the application I guess.

I'm not sure they're intended to be heirlooms, but hey.

Still waiting on those photos, Munchies.

Well, it has been a couple days since I logged in... I second the above post.

Munchies, we know you're around. Come on, where are those photos?

He has been posting in his Scout thread. Maybe someone should pop over there and remind him.

If you already know he can't provide proof, stop thinking about it. It doesn't do anybody any good.

Well, really, there are three possibilities:
1.) He was correct and has in his possession some ammo that the USA government designated "AP ball". Not likely, but possible.
2.) He was talking out of his a$$.
3.) He was sold some "AP ball" that turned out to be as bogus as the alleged M995 an acquaintance of mine purchased. He researched the M-xxx designation, found out it was bogus, and is now in hiding.

I think possibilities #2 and #3 are the most likely.
