I've known some people there for about five years and I'm constantly impressed with the people, the culture, the lifestyle, and the environment. I'm still rather mobile (not married, no kids, don't own a house, have skills that can be put to use anywhere) so why not give it a try?

I admire you for that. Are you worried about moving there without having a job first? I have wanted for years to move to Berlin, but the job market there is pretty tough. I am also looking in other parts of Germany, but I always thought I would need a job/work visa before moving.

My friends started passing around my resume two weeks ago and have already encountered two companies that would be interested in talking to me, so I think I'll be ok job-wise.

The hardest part is leaving my friends. I moved from Indiana to Phoenix, AZ three years ago and I've established about five or six really strong friendships here as well as trying to continue to see my friends from Indiana on occasion.

Some countries (New Zealand does this) have a point ranking system. You can take an online test to see how you rank. If you pass a high enough rank, you can apply as a Skilled Migrant and have an easier time getting into the country and getting a job.

i got sick once eating dubious fish in jakarta. got sick once in egypt, probably from bad salad. and about half the time in china, my stomach wasnt feeling 100%.

I'd like to still do more traveling. Was fortunate enough to travel through 9 european countries in my early college years. Maybe when I'm done with school, I can do this for a year or something if I have the dough.
