It would cost too much for a UPS that would handle 17 nodes. I do have the servers protected though. So, no stats interruptus.

FWIW, I bought the baby APC UPS at Fry's for $29--regularly $50. It's only 350 va, but it powered my rack with 3 CPU's for about ten minutes before I restored power so I'm not sure how long it will work. It comes with a serial cable, remote managment software, an extra modem cable, even a phillips screwdriver to open the battery compartment!
