WTF...do these protestors actually think they're going to get people to join their cause by pissing everyone off when they try to shut cities down?

The flaw in your argument is that the protesters actually "think"

IMO its obvious most of them don't, in which case they couldn't even be worried about getting more people to join their cause.

A bill introduced in the Oregon State Legislature would define violent protesters as terrorists and subject them to possible life imprisonment.

Oregon Senate Bill 742

Damn that First Amendment

Yes sir, it is a terrible thing.
What I like is all these 18 to 24 year old right wing dittoheads that just talk and talk and talk. They should be rushing down to the nearby army office and joining up and run their mouth at the Iraqui's

yeah i have to agree with this thread- i go to a real liberal college and there all these wanna be hippies protesting the war. i feel like asking them what they would do instead of war - it seems like there position is to not do anything and be blind to genocide and chem/bio warfare. i also believe that there protests undermine every soldier who is fighting or whoever has fought. the last thing i would want to see is people protesting the war while im getting shot at.

If people believe the war is wrong it gets even more dire to express that view once it has started.

Personally, I don't have enough information to form a rational opinion on whether or not we should declare war on Iraq. But, it is a moot point now, since we did declare war on Iraq, and therefor the only rational behavior is to support it 100% (IMHO anyway).

I would think the only rational thing to do would be to get enough information.

The City with the most public protesting might persuade terrorist to bomb some other pro-war city instead of theirs, if that's the case I want my city to have more protestes just in case.

Ah, so even if you believe in your heart that something is irrational, immoral, just plain wrong, whatever... you should support it because the President signed off on it?? It's your kind of thinking that allowed the Nazis in WWII to get away with what they did. Even the people that knew about the horrible things their government was doing went along with it because they were ultra-patriotic and wanted to support their Fuhrer.

I think you mean left wing, bud. Right wingers are the guys who drive around in pickup trucks with a shotgun behind the seat and a white hood in the glove box. They love good ole boy George W Bush and they think it's great that we're over in Iraq killin lots of towel-heads and camel-jockeys.

Yeah...that's one of the reasons I like living in Berkeley...terrorists might come here to hang out but I doubt they'd ever do anything to our little city here just because of all the support we give them

I'm all for freedom of speach and the right to peacefully protest but these people laying in streets to block traffic are going to far. They can't keep their protest within the legal limits and they should be treated as the criminals they are. Also, rather than waste time arresting them I'd rather see a water cannon or rubber bullets used to clear them out. Well either that or let all the pissed off people sitting in bumper to bumper traffic do the job instead.

What the? As a soldier, seeing protests make me happy because it reminds me that people are allowed to have opinions here in the US. Imagine an anti-Saddam protest in Iraq...how much fun would that be?

Oh, lots of fun, until they start machinegunning the crowd and calling in mortars

We already covered this ad nauseam in this 450 post topic. Unfortunately, some of you dimwits couldn't be bothered to read it, or even the initial post in this topic!

It ain't about the freedom to protest. It's about closing down business and traffic, and generally being a GD criminal. Serves 'em right if the cops throw their sorry asses in jail for a few days while they spend valuable time processing these fvcktards. As if they don't have enough other sh|t to worry about!:disgust:

I think they should have monster truck rallies in the streets sponsored by the makers of GTA.

I have a bad feeling that when we get through liberating Iraq and many of our military come home,"some" of these protesters will not be saying the kindest things to our soldiers. Some of these protestors have gone over the line at there "peaceful" rallies in my opinion.

I hope I'm wrong though .

How do you really feel?

Do you have difficulty expressing yourself without calling others names?

yeah, i find it funny how people use "liberal" as like an insult, it immediately shows their ignorance and usually renders their post skipworthy.
