Arris TM502G Comcast MTA

Been having intermittent internet connection issues since I upgraded my basic cable to digital cable (coincidence maybe?), Comcast swapped my trusty Motorola out for this new MTA and I'd like to check the SNR.

For the life of me I cannot find the IP for this thing to look at the config. Anyone know the IP address? Maybe my google skills are lacking as I had no luck, also DSLreports was a no go, I think the modem may be very new and not enough info out there on it.

Dunno. I'll ask the guy in our training lab to see if he knows if there is a user accessible diagnostic page like the motorola's have. I take it you have phone as well?

I do not have the phone at this time.

Thanks, guess I need to swap mine out it does not respond even when hooked up directly to the modem.

From what I understand carriers can disable the web based status page through the config file. It is possible that yours has chosen to do that. Comcast in Northern VA leaves it exposed (my provider).

Scamcast doesn't, the signal levels and stats of the router should be at 192.168.100.1 (I have scamcast and the same MTA) so if you can't get to 192.168.100.1 you may have a bad MTA call scamcast and have them replace it.

High SNR margin? Try 192.168.?.1

? can be 1~whatever... Test your luck.
