The Samsung monitor at your first link is noted as "deactivated." That means it's discontinued in their inventory. I Samsung has discontinued it, that also means you may find a better deal somewhere.

In general, I like Samsung monitors, but like everything else, they vary from model to model. The very best way to evaluate monitors is to go to a B&M store and look at the ones that interest you, preferably side by side with the same signal source.

The best way I've found to get info on many models is to search Google for the model number. If it contains hyphens, dots or spaces, put the model number in quotes. That often brings up professional and user reviews and comments and lists of comparative prices from around the web.

If you find overlapping model numbers, include the manufacturer's name in the search.

This is just a suggestion, but you might want to take a look at the "LCD Guide" Thread here on Anandtech. It has some very good information on LCD monitors. See the link below for the thread...

LCD Guide

Thanks!

I dont need the speakers on the 19" but it seems to have a better pixel pitch AND higher contrast ratio. But the 20" is..... well an inch larger.
Heck there is only a $10 difference.

I cant decide! *banging head on desk*

I have the Asus 21.5" Vh226 and Viewsonic vx1962wm monitor. Between the two Viewsonic seems much more accurate when it comes to color production. Viewsonic is also little brighter. I would stay away from Asus monitors but for the money it should be adequate for typical home use.

Pixel pitch is directly tied to the resolution & size of the monitor. If you keep the same resolution (1680x1050) a larger monitor will inevitably have a larger pixel pitch.

This is not nearly the issue on LCD's as it was on CRT's, I would focus more on getting the size and resolution you want rather than pixel pitch.

Should be fine - I tried a 20" LCD a few years back, and couldn't handle the small pixel size, but if you have good, then no problem. I can't imagine how small the pixels are on the 19" 1680 x 1050 LCD!
