Artic Cooling HSF (svcompucycle)

Didnt see where anyone had posted info on this HSF. I guess svcompucycle is the only place that carries them. I ordered two for a dual processor mobo, just recieved them today. First thing I was shocked at was the fact these are 80MM units (Shoulda looked at the dimensions better). I think Im going to be okay though ont he dualie, should be able to get both on there.

The fan is a thermally controlled 80MM. Range is from 10db-32db noise, 11-36 CFM, 1000-3500 RPM. I have yet to install these, still waiting on the motherboard. The clip is rather unique. Utilizes all the cleats and has a nifty attatchment. I snapped it onto a socket A board I had laying around and it went on very smoothly and released easily enough!

When I get it all up and running later I'll post back temps and such, but it looks to be a great unit. Even comes with some thermal grease of some sort instead of a cheapo thermal pad.

Let me know if anyone else has one of these and how they are working out. Oh yea, best part...they're cheap! 14.99! Fairly heavy unit though, so it doesnt appear to be cheaply built!

I just ordered one. Sometime next week I should know.

I was going to order a quiet fan for my volcano 7 but figured it would just be easier to order on of these.

I used to use the svc68 but after nearly spearing my motherboard to death when I changed CPU's I decided I didn't like it as much as I used to.

I just ordered one of these for an AMD 1600+. I had actually ordered a SVC GC68 but received e-mail they were out of stock. Should receive it in a couple of days.

I actually ordered a GC68 with a ThermalTake fan. But I got a e-mail saying they were out of stock. So I called and they switched my order to a Arctic Cooling fan, hopefully I get it soon.

It is f'n huge. Seriously. I thought the SVC-68 was big but it had nothing on this. Capacitors on my nforce board were VERY close to being an issue.

Seems to cool fine. Seems quiet.

The attachment is okay. If I was installing it before installing the mobo in a case it would be great. It is a little much to move when you are putting it on inside of a case.

I got both of mine on the dual PIII yesterday. First thing I notice is the surface needed some attention...so I lapped the #2 heatsink that was running hotter. Seems to have helped, things have stabilized out.

How fast is your fan running? Mine look like they barely spin! I attatched the fans to the motherboard header, but Im debating about putting on the adapter and plugging it directly into the PSU.

The case is so nice and quiet. I used the NMB fans from svcompucycle also that were on sale. Everything was very very very quiet....except that d@mn western digtial 80GB SE hard drive!!! Ive heard people say you can get quiet ones and get loud ones....Im gonna see what western digital and newegg have to say.
