Artifacting

I have an eVga 7800GT with the copper heatsink.

I would like to know what artifacting is, and if you think I will have any problems with it, because I havn't booted up my computer yet ( dont hav power supply yet) and today is the last day I had to return an item to newegg if there were problems.
There is no way i can boot it up today, but I would like to know if you think I might have an artifacting problem.

eVGA=lifetime warranty, so don't worry about Newegg. No, you shouldn't have an artifacting problem out of the box.

Artifacting is what happens when the video card becomes unstable, usually because it gets too hot. It's easy to spot when playing games or moving between windows because a spot on the screen gets blurry or slow.

Basically you'll know it when you see it. And when you see it, the card's not necessarily jacked, just means it's running too hot.

Odd question... you may certainly have a DOA card, there's no way to tell until you power it up. It's easier to deal with defective products during the original return period tho, otherwise, you'll have to setup an RMA with eVga in the event the card is defective (the fan on my first Sapphire X1600XT died within the first 10 minutes).
