Posted this in GH without much luck.

I just upgraded from a KT600 to an NForce2 Ultra 400 and did a clean install of XP SP2, with the latest chipset and video drivers.
Now anything 3D related will have artifacts in the most extreme way possible.
i.e. dots all over the screen, polygons appearing that shouldn't be, etc.

Previously with the KT600 board (Albatron KX600 Pro), everything was fine.

I brought everything back down to stock speeds/voltages and tried installing older video drivers, and even unreleased beta drivers and nothing worked.
Thinking that only the motherboard changed, I uninstalled a few drivers here and there and when I uninstalled GART drivers, the artifacts disappeared.

Has this happened to anyone else? Is this a known issue?

Possibility of card damage (static...?) when swapping motherboards?

Possibility of motherboard AGP port borked?

I don't think there's any phsyical damage because when I uninstall the GART drivers, it's back to normal but I lose performance

I have basically the same problem here. Except that when I load the GART drivers the screen becomes very fuzzy and I have to reformat.

Which GART driver version are you guys using? I've been using nForce boards for over 2 years now and I've not had this problem. I'm currently using GART 4.40 and have been for a long time. If you're not using that version, try it.

I am now having this problem. My system was fine until I installed BeyondTV Link. It said that my drivers were not up to date and installed the latest nVidia platform (5.10) and graphics drivers (66.93). Now I get this horrible corruption in 3D games like World of Warcraft and Rise of Nations. I used DriverCleaner3 from 3DGuru.com to remove the drivers and revert everything back to the stable 61.77 graphics drivers without luck. But from what is being said, it is the GART driver causing the problem. I am using v4.36 that came with the 5.10 unified platform drivers. I was getting ready to do a fresh install but I will try removing the GART driver and using the default WinXP driver to see if that helps.

I made sure it isn't temperature related as the RivaTuner log showed a peak of 58C on the video card and motherboard monitor showed 42C on the processors. They are all watercooled with a 120mm fan blowing directly at the passive video memory heatsinks.

System Specs:

2 x AMD Opteron 250
IWill DK8N Motherboard
2GB (4 x 512) Samsung Reg. ECC Server Memory Dual-Channel
eVGA GeForce 6800 Ultra (dedicated line to each power input)
2 x 74GB WD Raptor SATA HDD (RAID 0)
Creative Audigy2 ZS Platinum
Antec True 550W EPS Power Supply
WinXP Pro SP2
Koolance EXoS-AL Watercooling

I don't see 4.40 listed.
The highest is 4.36.

Typo or unreleased beta versions?
