Where are most of your friends from? Old friends from school? Coworkers? Neighbors? Through your children? Fellow hobbyists? ATOT?

I am still in touch with college friends, but they all live away. I have a couple of friends I play tennis with. A couple of drinking buddies. My dad would be "The" friend right now... talk to him 3-4 times a day, the older the cooler he gets.
Plus the usuals at the bar I hangout at... I would call them friends or drinking buddies.

work "friends", old friends and a few gamer friends. not one of the gamer friends are IRl, all online... im a pretty closed person, and fairly out of touch with reality so i dont really have that many friends as it is. but the ones i do have id give blood for.

A few friends that I've had for a long time. My best friend and I have been buddies for 15 years. Outside of them a couple people I've met in college and one or two I've met through local LAN parties.

Since the wife and I moved about 2 years ago now to a new state, we haven't really made many true friends that we hang out with on a regular basis.

It's harder to find people that are like minded like us since we're both 27, married, no kids and own a home. We don't party on a regular basis and would rather go hiking for the day than go to a club for the night.

So it's been tough honestly.

My very close friends (the ones I hang out with regularly) I've known since 1st grade. I'm 31 now.

At 24 and a year out of college, I too am seeing that having friends as an adult is kind of... challenging?

Aside from work "friends", most of whom don't really count.

A couple HS friends, but they're more drinking buddies now. A couple work friends, and mostly online gaming buddies (a few of which I know IRL)

University, and current/former flatmates. Then there's the work mates, but they don't really count as I see them everyday and am pretty much forced to spend all day with them.

It's not really that hard to make new friends, you just have to do stuff like be active in your community join some clubs play some sports.

Women I met on the net, a buddy from my church and a girl from my church. A buddy from school that I hang out with when I'm in town. And sometimes just randomly meet people.

My friends are co-workers, friends of co-workers, and loser brothers of co-workers.

EDIT: some college friends too from Sweden, but I only see them about once a year on average.

If you would use my user name, Team 198 and Fold@Home on your pc's you would no longer be considered a loser.
You would actually be a very cool person then.

Locally, one friend through my wife, a few old work friends from past jobs I see every now and then. A few friends we've met at bars.

I'm still friends with my college buddies, but they all live back in Wisconsin/Minnesota. I hardly ever see them and none of us were much the "keep in constant touch" types.

Mostly my kids' parents and my wife's friends and their husbands. I was never all that close to my HS friends (and I live 500 miles from my HS, anyway) and all my college friends live too far away. Work friends are mostly just that (except for one guy who is also a parent of one of my kids' friends ).

My two best friends are my brother-in-law and my cousin-in-law.

i'm 37 married with kids.

here are my friends:

1 from 1st grade, my best man, now lives in London with his family (1975)
1 was a friend of the above, probably my closest friend now (1995)
2 worked with both the above (1996)
1 was friends with 1 of the guys just above (we're now married) (1995)
1 from high school track team (1986)
1 from the bud light pool league (we used to be very close) (1997)
1 is the sister of the guy who was my best man, she also lives in London now (1987)
1 from college (1998)
4 from taekwondo dojang (2006)
1 neighbor with an xbox 360 (they have a kid my daughter's age so the mothers are friendly) (2003)
5 from work (these are more like coffee/drinking buddies) (2006)

and as corny as it sounds, my wife really is my best friend. i tell her just about everything. hell, we were close friends for 6 years before we even started dating.

EDIT: i forgot about 6 or so from a previous employer
