LOL check out my broken RAID-0 haha.

It didn't take long for the writes to become totally broken.

Due to lack of TRIM?

Curious if that is something I have to look forward to, but I guess I can always just re-image anyway.

The Sandforce SSDs have CG on the drives, like the older Vertex's did. You don't have to worry about lack of TRIM in RAID when you have CG on the drive's firmware.

Awesome, I did not know that particular snippet of information - thanks!

I'm really digging this Vertex LE pair so far. I got a REALLY good price because I bought them through my work account, haha. $325 and some change per. I consider that a pretty solid deal.

ugh! I'm getting some pretty horrible numbers, 40.45MB/s and 19.12 for Seq. Read and Writes. I have about 50% free space on my 80GB G1. Any suggestions?

So I tried this benchmark on my Intel 40GB SSD. I don't have a program to take a screenshot so here are some raw numbers:

AS SSD Benchmark 1.4.3704.27281

------------------------------
4K-64Threads:

Click on file>screenshot, numbers seem right on par with the specs of the drive.

Ive only seen people around here with the 100GB model. The price of the 50GB OWC drive crept up $20, making the 100GB look a little more attractive.

My triforce, err, tri-RAID, numbers.

Writes are seemingly a bit broken due to the drives previous Vista usage (no TRIM), & me being too lazy to secure erase them all before this.

I'm happy overall though.

Two Intel X25-M 80GB G2 + one Intel X25-M G1

n7,

So you're suppose to do a secure erase on an SSD before you format and install an OS?

I just got an SSD recently and people told me that the procedure to installing an OS should be no different from an HDD because with AHCI enabled, TRIM will automatically fix and keep the SSD at peak performance. I'm getting the impression from you and some people that I should do a secure erase before installing an OS on a used SSD. Should I do that? What program are you using? How should I do it?

No, you're fine.

Until recently in my case, i was running Vista, not 7, so no TRIM.
On top of that, RAID-0 = no TRIM.

So basically i don't get TRIM, though supposedly the newest Intel driver gets me some kind of TRIM?
Or would have, but me having a G1 (doesn't support TRIM) likely semi-breaks that.

In short, normal users need not worry.

Those are extremely nice numbers for your Intel!

Your Agility looks fine.

Here's my 120 GB Agility:
