I think if we saw some average Japanese cosplayers at a Japanese convention, the scales would be closer to even. Most of the hawt asian cosplyers linked are semipros/models, and the american pics are mostly average or below average stuff people made just for fun to wear at a con. So we're seeing the best of the asians and the worst of the americans.
