Among all the Thai movies,, We all know Tony Ja ROCKXORZ,, and also watch Born to Fight, That was an inspiration to Tony, although it was a m00t movie ,, still great action

That's because there is a very strict gun control policy there (similar to Britain - you know, the ol' "even the cops only have batons"); cultural differences, I suppose.

Anyhow, if you're into depressing movies, I'd recommend the rest of the vengeance trailogy that Oldboy is a part of;

I still found it hilarious how He freaking ""PWNED " cuz he was the only guy with a gun, I mean u'd think the entire building full of mobsters would have guns,, idk just seemed unrealistic if they're suppose to be socially powerful mobsters.

Windstruck---- if it's like sassy girl, then I won't like it for the same reason that i'm dead inside.
... only Sassy Girl and Windtruck are sappy dramas, but koreans do the heart-tugging, relationship movies so well T_T

You'll find nice descriptive reviews of most of the films at this site.

Windstruck stars the same girl that was in Sassy Girl, and some say it's the spiritual sequel, so you probably won't like it.

Sha Po Lang was kinda m00t,, I think they're playing gangsters off as way too nice, I mean if they were that sensitive in real life, they would've never survived as gangsters.

Well, up here in Canada there's a few channels that show them. Saturday nights on Channel M out of Vancouver they have Cantonese Cinema, they usually play really good flicks. Sometimes they're dramas or romance crap, but even then they're well done ones.

Saying something "feels" like filler doesn't make it so. It's just been so long since there was a real storyline, it's taking a while for them to get back into things.

How I wish I were not dead inside, I'd have alot more TV to watch. But sad truth,, I don't ever feel that way. I don't like suger, salt only.

After the second episode of Shippuden, It was obvious that They only have one thing left going and that was The Orichimaru Agenda. And ofcourse had they had anything else they would've ended Orochimaru, BUTTT No, they drag it out, whyyyyy??? Because it's played out and they're scraping for their dieing fans, and VERY VERY stupid little kids that'll watch anything and play their games..

I'm also a big fan of classic John Woo movies. Just be sure to stay away from his American stuff and you'll be fine.

Oh wow, I was going to mention that, but thought it was too much of a period movie for people. Otherwise, I recommend To Live too, and I've also seen Raise the Red Lantern (it's alright, it's at least watchable for just the backdrops) and Not One Less (recommended) directed by Zhang Yimou

On paper this one sounds bad, (rag tag group of indians face off against the well polished British cricket team to protest taxes in a part musical, part drama movie that's 4 hours long). But it's really good and has a charm not many movies will ever have

who is tricked by a man trying to woo her mother in law by hiring her to work at his nonexistent massage parlor. Great ending. Shaolin Soccer is
a fun one by Stephen Chow, who has already been mentioned in this thread.

Their movies generally suck (I used to live there, watched more Japanese movies than any other asian movies). Be sure to ignore anyone who tells you Beat Takeshi is a "genius"

Yea, I'm not sure if this movie is even japanese, Some one said "The Last life in the Universe" ,, OK so I went and borrowed it this morning, watched it,, and was like,, WTF Mmmmmm I just got Pwned. WTF happens in this movie I'm so confused,, did they have sex?? what happened, Why did she jack the guy's book. Is he some sorta gangster, was that a tattoo on his back,, wtf going on.

Does anyone know of a movie about a poor family with a blind mother and a couple of girls that are never let outside to play, then they finally go outside to play and buy a watch? Sounds like a lame movie but it was awesome, I'd love to watch it again if I could get a hold of the name, ideas? Might have been Indian or middle eastern, certainly not east asian.
