Here's a question. I was always taught that you can only get saved when god "speaks" to you. If god never speaks to me and saves me, then why am I punished and sent to hell? He's the one who never spoke to me and showed me the light, so that's a bit unfair IMO.

That is the idea of special election, a particular tenant of a theological branch called Calvinism.

(Disclaimer: I have not read the full content of that site and I am not promoting their theology. Their summary of Calvinism and Arminianism is pretty decent on the surface though. I've never seen it paired against their chosen theologian Karl Barth though, so that seems to be their attempt to elevate a somewhat obscure theological strain against two other more major contrasting theological ideas. Also, there are more ideas out there than simply the two biggies covered in their article.)

I don't subscribe to Calvinist theology personally. I don't see sufficient Biblical support for it.

If you wish to interpret, then so too shall I. Your logic follows that Christ says to be as children, and therefore, baptism is irrelevant with regards to sinners entering heaven. Yet that then presents the question of why did Jesus baptize anyone?

The Gospels concur that John the Baptist baptized Jesus. Do you claim that the Gospels were false, and created by the Roman Catholic Church? If so, then the entire New Testament is going to fall apart.

Probably the very best question in this entire thread. For me personally, I think rising from the dead is demonstratively a divine act. The witnesses to this act changed their entire lives, and not at all for the better, as a result of having seen this occur. They were jailed, tortured and almost all of them were ultimately killed for refusing to recant the testimony about what they saw. While I absolutely believe that secondhand witnesses would do that through crazy-level faith, I do not believe that firsthand witnesses, knowing it to be a lie, would sacrifice so much.

That's my personal reason for the belief of Christ as divine. I'm sure other people have other reasons.

How do you know that he really rose from the grave? What evidence is there that the Bible is true instead of a much more likely story that someone really just nabbed the body? Really, how do you know? The Bible can't be corroborated in any way.

Speaking of which, was Jesus gay? I mean, he hung around with 12 attractive young men who shared his beliefs, and never made the moves om Mary Magdaline.

Why are we as humans expected to forgive each other and love each other unconditionally, but God need to sacrifice his son in order to have this ability? That is; why was Jesus death necessary in order for God to grant the common sinner passage to heaven?

PS: I am taking the offer in the OP as sincere.

God is perfect so he has perfect Justice and perfect Love and Forgiveness. His justice requires that sin be punished therefore he took the punishment on Himself through Jesus Christ.

We are expected to forgive and love each other because that's the way Jesus treats us.
