Why would God give us free will but then set his expectations upon us? And why punish us for doing as our free will allows? Ive always view this as "Free will with consequences", which to me is not true free will.

This is another question/argument which I have had. Why is it called "free will." We are free to do as we wish, but the alternative to doing as god commands is an eternal damnation in hell. That doesn't sound like a choice to me.

Additionally, God knew you before you were born. He chose to create those who he knew would not choose him. That's creating someone for the express purpose of eternal damnation. That is NOT a God of Love and that is NOT free will.

Uhh... guys, you're forgetting the the Bible was written by people. It's the message of God, but it was ultimately written by people. Yes: imperfect beings wrote the Bible.

Just because something requires faith that doesn't automatically make it untrue. However it certainly makes it more difficult to believe.

You won't find truth in religion because nobody actually knows what the truth is. That's why there's so many different religions and flavors of each of those. Religion dupes you into believing you know what the truth is.

Religion binds people together into communities on a very large scale. You may have otherwise nothing in common with someone, but if you have a common religion, you have an instant mechanism by which you can then team up against someone who does not.
