Being paranoid implies that you're worrying. Worrying is stressful to your body and mind. Being stressed continuously shortens your life because of increased health risks to conditions such as hypertension and high blood pressure which lead to heart attacks.

Yes. I only walk on grates that I have concluded to be safe after analyzing them for a few seconds before I step on them. Some of them you can tell that there is a 0% risk of them falling in.

there was a story yesterday where someone (was it Spain? was it somewhere in the US? I forget...) had been setting traps in a local park to capture joggers. He had placed sharp spikes at the bottom of deep pits, covering them with leaves, like a tiger trap. I think his traps have claimed around 8 joggers so far (none of them fatal, I believe)

Knowing this, how do you feel about jogging, or simply walking through a public park?

No more running or walking on grates for me.

but these were pits dug into the soil, cleverly disguised with loose grass and leaves. Best you stay away from any non-concreted surface.

the extreme OCD-germaphobics often have jars and jars of their own urine laying around. I believe it is because the bathroom is a filthy, disease-ridden place wherein they can never set foot. Since they have to urinate/defecate somewhere, into the jars it goes.

Have you turned your home into a giant Faraday cage like Gene Hackman did in Enemy of the State to keep out possibly harmful radiation? (Yes, I realize in his case it was to keep the government from spying on him.)

As I was reading this the snake coming up from the toilet reminded me of another thread years back that was titled something like, "There are things swimming around in my poop." The guy had some sort of parasites. Do you check your stool every time to see if it's creature free?
