Hi.
CPU Thermal Throttling should be available in the modded bios only available from below link. I don?t use it so I can?t confirm it
http://www.pc-treiber.net/file....php?fileid=1461&lim=0
I tried this one and thermal throttling didnt seem to work for me.(using standard intel heatsink - dissapointed to find all aluminium, no copper core on this, as i thought the e5XXX heatsink had copper cores )
Now have my e4500 orthos stable at 2882mhz ( 11*262 ) with my ram at 3.3.3.9 2t.
Under full load with orthos running and intel TAT. My cpu cores hit 48c cpu0 and 53c cpu1.
5c difference between them is not good i think. Using a Zalman 9500.
I have notived that under load my cpu volts drop to 1.22v from 1.28, is this why i cant go higher without a volt mod.
Can any one offer advice on why this board loses 1gig of ram at post if i use fsb of 270 or above. Is this a cpu volt problem or something to do with ram timings or volts.
I would appreciate any help on the lost ram as i think this is holding me back at the moment.

Are the 2 sticks of the same brand and type?
Both sticks the same - a matched pair of GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC6400C4 800MHz Ultra Low Latency DDR2 Dual Channel Kit .
I have tried every combination of settings mentioned in these forums from the 1st dual vsta , quad vsta and the board i have the quad vsta sata2. It will not go over 262 orthos stable.
Never have been able to run with flexability turned off, and never had a 1T command rate; it locks up after stating the cpu speed and f2 option.
I can boot at 268 but orthos fails with rounding errors. Anything over 270fsb and 1gig of ram dissapears and i get single channel mode showing.
I am running a modular power supply - a JEANTECH - 700W *STORM*. I dont think this is the problem.
I guess the only thing i havent tried is running with just 1 stick of ram - but that kind of defeats the object a bit.
I`m thinking that i either need more volts to the ram or more to the cpu. It could even be that i have a bad stick of ram - just dont know any more.
