I'd like to know if this new All-in-wonder card would work with the SATA2 board.

http://www.visiontek.com/produ...ter/allinwonderHD.html

I don't see the 3650 chipset specifically listed on the VGA support list.

Also I am a little concerned that video recording might need to take advantage of the 16x pcie bandwidth.

What do you folks think? Am I better off finding a seperate video tuner board?

I have a USB wifi connection set up on the first back port, and a 4 port hub running off the other, to which I connect thumb drives, game controllers, etc. Other than the fact that USB wifi kinda sux in gral, it all works. What are your issues?

At lower resolutions (eg 1280x1024), not much, but up to 10% at higher resolutions. You can search for the original review on AT for the 775Dual-VSTA; I believe there or in a follow up there were some benchies.

Have you tried deleting all USB devices in Device Manager and then letting Windows refind them ?

Ditto. From your later msg (not quoted here), it wasn't clear if it was the USB ports or the attached devices that were flagged with a yellow exclamation. I'd try this:

-disconnect all devices from all usb ports
-disable all usb in bios
-boot and delete all greyed out or yellow! devices under usb and elsewhere (make sure you opt to show hidden devices in device mgr)
-reenable usb in bios
-install the 3rd-party usb card & hub drivers ONLY if OS does not already recognize all of them
-follow mfgr install info for each device to attach, do 1 by 1

If you have a USB keyboard and/or mouse, you`ll have to leave those connected and skip the bios disable, but if you can score a PS2 keyb&mouse for this process, better.

I tried to use a Gigabyte HD 3450 on Pci-express Slot but system could not boot with it. No Screen, No thing, No Sound.
I am using latest bios 2.1a and clear CMOS
that Gigabyte HD 3450 work fine on another asus P5Q motherboard.
What you think about it?

Micro -- we need more info. What power supply are you using? How many watts? How many amps on the 12 volt rail(s)? Is your Asrock 4coredual-sata2 able to run a pci-express vid card other than the 3450?

Hey guys, just to clarify, for PCI-express, all radeon cards below hd4000 series (3850/70) works no prob, above 4000 you need the modded bios off that german website. For Nvidia, you need to flash the vbios on an 8800gt, but all 9 series cards work.... right?

Hi all, just got the rev 2 4coredual-sata2 after my Asus CT-479 adaptor on my 5+ year old P4P800 DLX died, a shame as that was the most powerful
single core chip around, especially when running at 2.7ghz.

Anyway, to the point, I have a E5200 at 1.15v vid, Powercolor HD3850 AGP, and 2gig dual channel of Gskill DDR1 at cas 2,3,2,5 which it will run at to over 227fsb.
I have been getting frequent lockups, occasional nothing upon trying to boot the computer from cold and also on a restart.
I did a fair bit of research before buying the motherboard, and there seemed to be indication that there is Vcore adjust on this mobo, but I would have to say
obviously not, also Asrocks website is misleading with that Hybrid booster technobabble.

I'm not complaining yet, as there is plenty of tweaking still to be done, but I get the impression that 1.15v isn't enough and more juice would solve the problem,
I am using my Antec 500w smartpower 2 which had no problems with 5 hdds, 2 burners, 5 fans, hd3850 and pentium m cpu before, all voltages in the bios are good btw.
any help would be very much appreciated thankyou.

Ileader36, have you isolated the problem i.e. are you sure it's the CPU causing the problems? i.e. did you do a memtest86? (to test the memory) and an Orthos / Prime cpu test?

Some things to try -- - In your bios settings, if you haven't already, change the agp voltage to high (it's actually not really for agp but gives more volts to the northbridge chip).... and disable pci PCIE downstream pipeline option -- and crank your memory voltage to high....

Anybody try a e7400 on this board yet? I was thinking of picking one up and installing it in this board, i'm thinking it should work without issue.

Thanks guys for the replies, to be honest I'm not 100% certain it is the cpu, but as all other hardware worked flawlessly in the old mobo that was a logical conclusion.
More likely is issues with the horrible socket 775 motherboard pin system, I hate it, much prefer the pins on the cpu. Also I have installed my Zalman 7000b CU cooler, and temps
are idling at 37 each core and everest also reads 29 for the whole cpu, not sure how that works. I have run Super Pi no problems at all up to 8m, so that normally craps itself when
Ram or cpu are unstable.
As I mentioned occasionally a blank screen at boot up and nothing else, also happens (ctrl, alt, del), and windows restart, but it is random
I've done some poking around the web, and it seems the E5200's have a default voltage of anywhere from 1.125v up to 1.2v, so I would say there is a possibility that the low voltage, depending on
the quality of regulation, might cause it to struggle under load. It's also possible that the bios I have installed (2.11a) still has some later revisions to come that might give better stability to these processors.
My ram ran perfectly with memtest at 227fsb 2.3.2.5 at 2.85v on the old mobo, but the prob has occurred with all stock settings, and the ram is rated at 2.3.2.5 at 2.5v

Is there a post or thread that gives voltages to all the dram, agp, low, normal. and high settings.

I'll try disabling the pci downstream pipeline in the bios, but would like to know what voltages my agp card slot will be running at on high, as my old mobo I set it to 1.6v was fine there.

Another user here, Razgrizo, seemed tohave similar issues and Rma'd his board then all fixed, so I'll wait and see.

BTW, I got 10550 out of 3dmark06 and best superpi 1m run of just over 20secs, not too shabby, best time old cpu managed was 26.9secs at 2.8ghz.

I would suggest replacing the power supply and yes I know it worked in your old system but,...your failures are typical of a marginal power supply,...700W!

Hi all,

My turn to have an issue (posting also in the 4CoreDual-VSTA thread since I need rather urgent advice). I am running: 4CoreDual-VSTA || Treiber 2.33c bios || E4500 @ 9x300 || 7600 GT AGP @705/825 || 1xWD640 SATA || 2xMaxtor 160GB || 1xDVD-RW || Ultra X-2 550W || XPSP3

My system has been running stable at the above settings for quite some time (months) with no hardware or bios changes. Two days ago, the system started to freeze up entirely some 10-15 min. after booting. After the first freeze, which happened while surfing the net (no big load), I was able to boot again and check for minidumps or logged errors in the Event Viewer. There were none. The system froze again. It took a few attempts, but I was able to boot again, same results.

I then got basically a dead machine. I would get a black screen, or only the VGA bios message, and sometimes part of the bios screen. On one occasion, I noticed a cyclical ticking sound from my speakers, almost like an electric motor, that only went away when I turned off the PSU (speakers remained on since on another AC source). The ticking stopped, and that issue has not been reproduced (yet).

After 12 hours with the PC off and PSU switched off and drained, I was able to boot normally. Then the machine froze on the desktop (CPU 99% idle) after the first 10 or so minutes. This was followed by the same situation of a non-booting machine, occasionally freezing halfway through the bios screen, and once in a blue moon making it into XP before freezing.

This sounds like a PSU problem to me, especially since the PSU is not a very good brand and has always suffered from a very low voltage on the 12v line (sometimes close to 11.17v). But before I go out and drop the cash (beyond warranty at this point, so no RMA), could this be the mobo itself starting to fritz? Is there something I should include in my due diligence I am overlooking?

Thanks in advance for your help.

First thing I would do is set the cpu back to stock settings, if it still freezes then think about replacing the psu!

Gonna try that if I can get into the bios (which should be defaulting back to safe defaults afaik, but...). The settings were Prime95 and OCCT stable, but you may be right. Will report back if I can make the change.

Also I can overclock my E5200 To 3700Mhz wit 1.488 (Max) Volts

That is excellent news, as I have E5200 and 4coredual Sata 2 Rev2.

Did You do the bsel mod to the cpu?, obviously You did vcore mod.

I have intermittent black screen, no boot problem, lights and fans are on when this happens, and usually powering off and on again (via front panel power button) gets it up and running again. all voltages are above their ratings, and don't drop under load either, so doubt psu is the problem.

Have You had any similar issues?, also I am using 2.11a bios from PcTreiber.

Another question, does anyone know of a good and accurate voltage monitoring software for this mobo other than everest?

BSEL mode is not useful for me and I found no advantage between BSLE mode and manually setting FSB to 266.
I am using volt mode only.
No I don't have any similar issues. I am using 2.1a
You should use the latest version of software for accurate core temp
E.g. coretemp 9.1 shows 6-7 degree more than coretemp 9.3 and speed fan 4.34
http://i34.tinypic.com/wia3hh.png
Also Everest 4.2 that I use, shows wrong temp like coretemp 9.1

Thanks for that info, likely if problem continues I'll RMA the mobo, as all other hardware had no issues in previous mobo, also had 5 hdd's instead of 3 and one
90nm Pentium M cpu overclocked to 2.72ghz, which probably chewed as much power as the 45nm e5200 does. Obviously that won't be the case when overclocked to 3ghz and higher.

The mobo came with bios 2.0 installed and with everything at stock still played up, curiously though the problem has been less frequent lately, at one point early on had to press
power button 5 times before it gave a bios screen.
I might also check all grounding points as if there was some bad grounding with mobo that possibly could cause issues too. I have heard of people having issues with cases before.

I bought an e5200 and I am having the same problems. I can get it to run sometimes, but it will refuse to reboot at random intervals. Changing BIOS options is almost impossible, as it doesn't reliably save your changes, or it refuses to boot afterwards. Can't figure out the problem. IF I pull the DDRII ram and install one stick of DDR, it sometimes comes back to life, but not always. Too bad, I was really looking forward to this upgrade.
