My problem is nowhere near as bad as Your's, I'm using the 2.11a bios on a new Rev 2.0 board.
Intel speedstep is enabled no matter how I set it in the bios, other than that settings are being saved no probs. AGP lock at 66mhz doesn't work, but that is a known problem.
I was doing some video encoding last night, cpu at 230x12.5 default 1.15v, didn't miss a beat.
I suspect there are some compatibility issues that need fixing with these e5xxx cpus.
The e7xxx series may be similar, but they are not the same, different fsb, 3mb cache instead of 2mb.
Mine for the most part is good, just the occasional no boot problem.
