If you scan through pricewatch you will see there is something fishy about the reviews on the site that are positive. Read the negatives to get the real scoop on 3btech. Try calling and see if you get someone on the phone also.

I had one order not show up complete with them, a keyboard mouse combo, I bought 4 sets and got 4 keyboards, but 2 mice. I called, took a few tries got someone, they are small time, not newegg size so it may take a bit to call when they got like 2 people answering the phone, but they returned my call when they said they would call me back when they figured out what went wrong. I not only got my 2 mice but they sent me 2 more sets for free for the trouble.

I have bought from them boards, power supplies, cases, and keyboard and mice, and had but the one problem which they fixed right away for me. Saying just to read the bad reviews is nuts. Newegg has pissed me off more then once on some orders, and gotten busted stuff but you dont see me slipping into every newegg post saying how they messed with me, and you should read only the negative reviews to see how they are really like. Thats just crazy, shit happens, and I still buy from newegg, chiefvalue, and 3btech even though I had a mess up, took me a bit to get a hold of someone, but when I did they were quick to fix it and call me back. Try that with newegg I say, call them, throw a fit, and see what happens there as well.

You cant make everyone happy but you sure can piss everyone off.

That's fine I can only comment on my personal experience with 3btech but do you find similar negatives with chiefvalue or newegg?

"Today I opened the enclosure and found that the hard drive was not a new one, but a certified repaired one. "

"NO SOFTWARE was included and was removed from the package. You could see where someone had cut the manufactures seal and re-taped it"

"Mobo advertised as new was used. RMA'd and returned at my expense. Received another used board."

"his is another one of those companies that, even though they have been caught cheating their customer, still hold to the policy of making the customer eat the return shipping cost as well as a 15% "restocking fee"

"This is the 2nd time I have ordered (2) drives from this company, and "BOTH" drives were defective. Maybe they are passing on bad drives and then expecting US to RMA them to the Mfgr for replacement. 4 out of 4 drives bad, that is beyond normal"

-----

The list goes on about restocking fees to which NewEgg has never charges me once a restocking fee. I personally find a company with a restocking fee usually isn't that good of a company or is up to no good.

Many posts on being sent to the manufacturer and claiming orders are months old purchases seems a bit repetitive because people cant re comment on pricewatch to defend that reply.

Many posts of OEM and NEW that were obviously re-certified from manufacturer.

I will end there and just let the people who ordered from this company make their own judgment when their motherboards arrive.

I was expecting (a la newegg) that the parts might well already be nearly here, but I checked my email and I still haven't got any shipping confirmation. I was charged on 06/06/2008.

Did you call?

Yeah. I called. It turns out, they were out of the PS2-to-USB adaptors that I also ordered. I asked if they could just ship the mobos, since I want them by Fri., but they said that they don't do split shipments. So they were going to just take the adaptors off of the order, so that they could ship the mobos.

But I got another call back a few hours later, and they said that the adaptors came in, so they were going to ship out my entire order today. So I'm crossing my fingers that things will come in by Fri.

Several of these 775dual-vsta boards? Or different boards?
That doesn't sound too good. Perhaps these are refurbs, like I originally thought?

3 Boards (2 - Were the same make/model) All DOA.

I don't believe they were even refurb. Dare I say they were system pulls because the bag for the 2 mobos was not the same size as the mobo's.

If you read the pricewatch reviews you get the impression that others received system pulls claiming to be New/OEM/Refurbs.

New pull? Pulled from what? I can't think of any company that is building their systems based on this motherboard.

Again, WHICH boards? Please?

Was a while ago but the 2 were ones that were the same an e-machine mobo. I suspect they were e-machine pulls but couldnt confirm since none would boot I couldnt even get a post screen to tell what bios was on them.

It was the lamest vendor purchase I ever made and the last.

I thought that these were listed as just "New" when I ordered. My friend that looked at the boards to order seems to recall the same thing. This is getting sketchier and sketchier.

I don't know if this helps, but I never had a problem with this vendor. I only had 1 experience, though. Back in the day, I ordered an MSI kt133a (I think) chipset mobo. It came well packaged and worked right out of the box. It was very cheap (at the time), too.

Yeah, it said New, otherwise I probably would've waited. It looks like mine's going to get here today, so we'll see...

Got my 12 775dual-VSTA mobos, packed adequately. There were ten in one large box, seperated with cardboard dividers, and the other two were in cardboard boxes, themselves inside another larger box.

I noticed that several of the boards had northbridge heatsinks with bent fins. I'm not sure how that happened. It's a little bit concerning, if there was physical stress put on the northbridge chip itself.

I plan on reselling these on Sun. I wonder if I should test all of them, or just sell them with a warranty, and let people get back to me if they don't work. After all, I should have a 90 day warranty through 3BTech.

My 775Dual-VSTA from 3btech came on Wednesday (longer order to delivery than Newegg, but not horribly so). I didn't get a chance to do anything with it until today. Put everything together w/o drives and it posted! Put drives in and it posted! Formatted and installed O/S. Typing from it right now. Haven't done any updates, but I know that while I was waiting for my mobo and reading the replies I was freaking out so I wanted to give at least 1 good post to hopefully put everyone else at ease

That's good to know. I got mine yesterday, it looks fine but I can't test it yet. What version firmware did it come with?

I only looked at three out of my 12 boards, but one had 2.40, and one had 2.70 firmware.

Did anyone else get boards with bent northbridge heatsink fins? I wonder if they were bent at the factory, and this is "B grade" stock, being sold out the back door at Asus/ASrock. As long as they work, I'll be happy, but I didn't get a chance to test mine.

No clue where I find the NB on this board, but I didn't notice any damage on this board. Shipped with 2.7 bios.

On another note. I have 3 back plates and none of them are even close

Mine had the lower right hand fin bent. Easily unbent. Been itchin to mess with this mobo. I have an old AGP NV35(FX5900) will this work ok with this mobo?
Will also use an e2200 from a Fry's combo. Will try to boot at 266fsb, that will run this at 2.9ghz right?
Lastly, I have an OCZ 2x1gb Special Ops, what should I use for settings? From the legitreviews, it seems running at 533, the board benches better, should I run it at these settings with tight timings?
Thanks in advance for any tips.

I have had this board for over a year now, love it. I have tried so many combinations of memory & processors, video cards, its crazy. Runs Vista, XP no problem, SATA, whatever. Been a very fun board, I'll keep it till it quits or gets old.

This may belong in for sale but it is directly related to this thread.

I bought this board after seeing this thread. I also ordered an IO shield for $5 from Asrock which hopefully is on its way to me.

After ordering this board I found great deals on all other components and no longer need a "transition" board. I purchased an ASUS motherboard to get the onboard GB NIC.

Anyway. If anyone wants my board I will hook it up to make sure it boots to the bios with memory and CPU properly and will sell it and the IO shield for what I have in it: $38 - free shipping.

Let me know.

For a dirt cheep CPU/MB replacement on an existing AGP/DDR1 system with a motherboard or CPU fail this is a great board.

With the prices of DDR2 so low I don't see any reason for still using this on an actual upgrade.

Well, the good news is that my friend tested all 12 of my boards, and they all post (with DDR1 memory). The bad news is that I paid him almost $100 to do so for me. So my cost on these boards rises to $37ea, still enough to attempt to turn a profit at the flea.
