I'm not looking for it to be best of the best but i dont wanna be limited too much either.

I was using a E4300 with a X1900GT on mine and it was a night and day difference at stock speeds, and when I overclocked the E4300 it was even better. You will see a HUGH improvement over what your running now, and you can find a used E4300 on the boards pretty cheap, and may already be a proven good overclocker.

BTW the review link I posted they were using a 7900GTX 16x pci-e card for the review, a 16x pcie card against a $245 mobo with a 16x slot
At some cases it was on par, slightly below, or above a $250 board with a 16x slot using a 16x card, so Id say you really wont notice much if at all.

Also I stand corrected, the review says there was no volt overclocking option, I havent used mine in over a year, and its dead so I am not sure if they made that a option after the review with a bios update. May want to check that, but in anycase you cant go wrong with this board unless your going for all out gotta have the best, which again, why would you be even considering something like this?

I have one of these in my sons computer - an open box I bought from NewEgg over a year ago. I've pretty much run the whole gamut of hardware through this board - I've used both a P4 and now a E2160 cpu. I've also used DDR1 and then upgraded to DDR2. I've also used both PCI and AGP cards in mine (now using AGP 1600Pro). It's a great overall motherboard for upgrades and making use of spare parts. It is not a great overclocker - expect a maxum FSB of around 300 Mhz. I was able to overclock a E2160 from 1.8 Mhz to 2.6 Mhz quite easily (290 Mhz FSB). There is no voltage control.

The 4x PCIE speed is not a problem at all - at least there is no performance lost at all when used with a Radeon X850XT. I would not consider the 4X PCIE slot as a handicap.

I believe when I had mine working there was a updated bios to go past the 300 mark now on these boards.

I have one of these boards, but am not using it at the moment.
Just keep in mind these boards do not work with nvidia 8800GS cards and probably most 9600GT cards. Some 8800GT will work, but only if they have the latest video card bios, such as the cards from EVGA.
The latest 3 series ATI cards should be OK if you have the latest board bios.

Wtih a 6800ultra you lose 4% of your performance. Like I said the faster the card the bigger the loss. Just don't exspect to be able to use a 8800 or 3850 series card and not lose alot of your performance.

If someone wants to send me one I will test my 8800GTS on this, and my DFI Lan party board and I will tell you the results between the two and what is lost exactly.

Yeah thats all good and all but when I used that vmod mine didnt work on my Asrock775i65g for the first time till I found this beautiful excel file. Basically the pin mod depends on your cpu's VID so different VIDs need different mods. So all you have to do in this Vmod pin calculator is enter your VID voltage, and then enter your desired vcore you want to go up to and Wala it maps the mod out for you. Hopefully this will help you out Virtual Larry

Nice Deal. Don't have any intel CPU's so would need a recommendation on best bang for the buck < $100 on this one? Is the Celeron Dual Core for $50ish a good OC'er? Time to research.

an e4600 will make life alittle bit easier when it comes to overclocking...but if its worth $50 more then the e2180 is very debateable...Check out frys or microcenter if you have them around where you live, they have very good deals on processors quite frequently...

Has anyone recieved shipping confirmation or tracking numbers from this company? I ordered on 06/05/2008, and still nothing from them except the initial order confirmation. I was expecting (a la newegg) that the parts might well already be nearly here, but I checked my email and I still haven't got any shipping confirmation. I was charged on 06/06/2008.

You do not get shipping or tracking info, it just show up about a week after you order.

I would order one of these, but i have a quad core and don't want to take the chance it wont support it.

the 754 socket board i ordered works great and overclocks well too. very happy for $23.99 shipped., wish it had a I/O plate, but that is a small gripe for such a cheap deal.

I ordered several boards from 3btech and every one of them failed to post. 100% bad boards.

If you scan through pricewatch you will see there is something fishy about the reviews on the site that are positive. Read the negatives to get the real scoop on 3btech. Try calling and see if you get someone on the phone also.
