I want to upgrade my trusty AMD Barton 2500+ box for *cheap* (otherwise it likely won't happen). I have a dual monitor ATI AGP card and 1GB of PC3200 memory, so I'd like to reuse those - hence my choice of the above boards.
From what I've read thus far, the Intel chipset has a hard FSB limit of 300, and though the VIA one doesn't, when Anandtech tested it they couldn't even get it to 300 (unlike several other boards in that shootout - I think it was "feeding the Conroe" or something).
Any ideas? My instinct is to go with intel for stability IF the VIA really won't OC the E6300 any better. But if others have had good luck OCing with the VIA boards, the thought of an E6300 humming along at 3GHz sure is enticing...
