I think your pc2700 ram might be a problem.
Try it in single channel or one stick at a time.

thanks guys.
I didn't get a beep code when starting up, but the fan on the heatsink and psu did spin.
I didn't try clearing the CMOS although it did cross my mind. Didn't think it would make a difference. I have returned that PCI-E card, thought I'd try and get one that is supported for sure.

Are you using both power connectors to the mobo?
Could be a DOA Mobo as their have been a few.

Qs:
1. So what memory speed do you suggest for me?
2. What is dual chanel DDR? is this affect system performance or OC things?
3. Is this mobo will work fine if i just put 1x1GB value memory (not 2x512MB)? im thinking about adding another 1GB later if windows vista come out. for now i think 1GB is enough for me.
4. Is 1x1GB will affect in "little OC" things?
thx in advance pals...
sorry for my english
1. Probably the fastest you can afford ?
2. Dual channel is when u have 2 memory sticks of the same size and speed running together. This is the best for performance and may effect OC ?? I'm not sure as I've only tried dual channel as have most people here I think
3. It will work obviously but dual channel is the best way to go ... I currently have a cheapish 2*1gig DDR sticks running in Dual channel ... depending on what you do on the pc maybe 2*512 would be enough for you ? Or if you have alot of pc friends to sell stuff to get 2*512 now and sell them together when u have enough to upgrade to 2*1gig ?
4. don't know but don't think it would make a great difference ... anyone else running single channel and OCing ??
Be sure and install the latest VIA Hyperion drivers and you should be good to go.Originally posted by: FreedomGUNDAM
Just finished putting together my updated system, I went from a A64 3400+ with ECS Nforce4-A754 mobo to a Asock 775Dual-VSTA with a E6400.
The upgrade with smoothly without any problems. The asrock mobo came with BIOS version 1.10 but recognized my E6400 without any problems. Running with the flexibility option disabled and all memory settings at default (I think AUTO). Have disabled the onboard LAN, onboard AUDIO, floppy control, MIDI, gameport, parallel ports, COM ports.
Installed Windows XP Pro and SP2 and flashed to BIOS v1.80. Running autopatcher right now.
For $55 this motherboard is awesome, I can used my 2GB of DDR memory & 7800GT PCIe with the newest Intel processor. Thanks a bunch ASROCK!!!!

got the newest Hyperion Pro 5.10a drivers installed.
Trying to decide if I should run with Flexibility option disabled or enabled with my ValueSelect PC3200
Flexibility = Disabled
FSB : DRAM = 3:5
memory timing = 2.5 / 3 / 3 / 7 2T
Flexibility = Enabled
FSB : DRAM = 3:4
memory timing = 2.5 / 2 / 2 / 6 2T
Suggestions/recommendation?

thanks for the suggestion, I change the memory for AUTO(DDR333) to DDR400, now according to CPUID(v1.36)
frequency = 533.8 mhz
FSB : DRAM = 1:2
memory timing = 3 / 3 / 3 / 8 2T

CPU-Z, CPUID, SiSoft, ... all these programs will report the wrong frequency and FSBRAM ratio. Your memory is actually running 400Mhz and 4:3 ratio.
Next step is to try to run 1T if it works stable for you.

OOPs, I goofed on the reply thing. I have a 775DUAL-VSTA motherboard. I got it because I wanted to wait for the Core 2 Duo's to come down in price. (maybe after the E4300's come out in Q1) I first used a Celeron 346 (3.06 GHz) OCed to 3.8 GHz stable. idle: 29 c, load:, after 1 hr of prime95, 40 c. Next I put a Pentium D 805 ( OCed to only 3.32 GHz stable, 166 fsb, no vcore adjustment) idle: 29 c, load: both cores 1 hr prime95, about 39 c to 41 c. I have accounted for about a 2 c margin in my BIOS. My apartment, where the machine is, gets about 20 c to 22 c I have had this board about 3 months and have NEVER had any problems with it. The only gripe I have is it doesn't have any vcore adjustment. Oh yeah, being cheap, I use a 1 GB stick of DDR1 PC3200 RAM. I did break out and get a cheap PCIe card though. (didn't have to, it supports AGP) I have a Tt Big typhoon HSF, 2x80 mm front fans, 1x80 mm side fan, 1x80 mm blow hole fan and a 1x120 mm back exhaust fan.
