Those voltages are definitely on the low side. My Antec TP430 runs a little low sometimes but not that low. And I play Prey too and I've never experienced a crash... if it's not your power supply you might want to look at the videocard drivers. You should also make sure you are running the latest bios. Good luck.Originally posted by: Jon Shannow
Quick question, when I install the Chipset Drivers all I get are two options: Update Inf files (or something like that) and IDE driver.... is the AGP GART and stuff automatically installed?
Overall I am happy with my new system, apart from slightly ropey Dual-View performance with my Bliss 7800GS and constant crashing in Prey (tho Oblivion seems fairly solid)...
On another note the voltages seem a bit low in BIOS 11.27 for 12v and 3.21 for 3.3. They were a lot better on my ASus A7n8x-x.... could this be causing the crashing I am having?

Well first of all you can't change the CPU multiplier with this board.
Second, you didn't mention what CPU you have.

I'm having the same problem as some of you. If I install Catalyst the computer hangs when loading XP. It works with old drivers that were slipstreamed to the XP installation CD I used, those drivers are from 2004. 3dMark2003 can be run ok with those drivers, so there shouldn't be any problems with the system otherwise.
Has anyone solved the boot problem?
Radeon 9700Pro. I got X800Pro AGP card from a friend. I'll be testing that soon too.Originally posted by: colche
What card and RAM are you using?
I'm sure you mean that they crash XP the same way as Vista.Originally posted by: colche
I've got it working stably in Vista RC1, using the Cataylst Vista Beta Drivers. As an experiement, I installed the XP drivers in Vista (its doable, i did it in Beta 2 -- the only thing is the xp drivers don't run Windows Aero desktop theme)...funny thing is...it crashes Vista in the exact same way it crashes Vista (during the boot screens).
Unfortunately they were not slipstreamed to the install CD by me, so I don't know the details about them. For 9700 pro, the drivers propably are as good as newer Catalyst drivers.Originally posted by: colche
Where can I get these microsoft slipstream drivers? they are packaged with Windows XP? Are they fully 3D enabled and on-par performance with the Cataylst drivers?

Problem I am having is that when I switch my PC on in a morning, it can't find either of my SATA drives. I do not have any ATA drives installed. After about 4 or 5 reboots (also enabling and disabling RAID in the bios) it will pick either one up. After another couple of boots it will find the other. The rig is then fine all day. I can switch it on anf off to my hearts content with it finding everything every time. Next day - No SATA again...
Anyone else having this problem? I have tried various combinations of RAM, all work fine. I am not over clocking. My PSU is 600 Watt. I have tried bios upgrades (1.8 and currently 1.9) I have taken all PCI cards out and reseated them. I have removed the chip and reseated it. Same problem every time.
Both my SATA drives are Seagate and are identical.
I have replaced the power connectors and the SATA connectors.
Any help or suggestions please!!!

Bah... now I need help.
Previously was running 1x1gb DDR400 just fine. Based on seeing some affirmations that OCZ Gold DDR2-800 XTC 6400 worked fine with this board, picked up a 2x1gb kit for use with this board. It will not post.
I asked someone on here via PM who reported to have this combination working fine what the setup in BIOS was, he/ she said it was just default. I restored defaults-- still wouldn't post. Cleared CMOS by removing battery-- still wouldn't post. Raised voltage level to "high"-- still wouldn't post. Changed compatibility mode to "enabled"-- still wouldn't post.
I did try removing one of the sticks, and with mem voltage at high it powered on, but didn't get past hardware detection stage to post.
Anyone have any other ideas/ ways to get this working?
Back to old DDR.
Thanks.
