Anyone else had this problem with the Asrock mobo. When I close IE screens it seems to scroll downwards instead of just disappearing instantly, also when using Media player 10 at reduced screen size the visualisation seen to be in slow motion, However at full screen its normal. I'm also getting a massage at PC pitstop about my graphics running really slow. This happens on the large number counting screen when running the full tests.

I've even re-installed windows thinking that I had a bad install but its still the same.

I've tried BIOS versions 1.90 and 2.10 but same problem. My AGP card is a XFX 7600gs. I've altered many settings in the BIOS but to no avail

Any Ideas?

Check the AGP settings in the BIOS--make sure the Adapter type is set to AGP and not PCI--it's kind of easy to miss the AGP settings unless you scroll to the bottom in the Chipset settings. There are a number of AGP settings to try, but the Adapter type is probably the most important. I also set the AGP calibration to enabled.

What does AGP calibration do?

I'm using an X800xt and if I don't enable AGP calibration, the card doesn't run at 8x.

with an ax800pro
there is no need for that..
btw beside atis crapy drivers these cards with a core 2 duo can run anything very good.
i cant make this card work together with m$ netframe.. (i using only the driver now)and drivers need 2 lock the pc once before they work ok at instalation..
eyrything ok after.. obviusly atis m$ policy can be blamed for that..(off topic )

I know that the manual says that DDR266 memory is supported, but I haven't checked to see how the motherboard handles the DDR memory bus speed dividers. So, I'm not sure if that memory speed is available with all frontside bus speeds or not.

I assume that someone running DDR memory on this board could clarify that for you.

I think your PC2100 memory can run at 262 speed. The calculation is 2100 / 8 = 262.

I think it should be okay with any Pentium CPU that runs on 200 FSB. That would include any Pentium Dual Core processor. If you see this AnandTech's article, you will see the motherboard has a 3:2 ratio avaiable:

http://www.anandtech.com/mb/showdoc.aspx?i=2810&p=4

With that ratio your memory would run at:

200 / 3 * 2 * 2 = 266

Compared to the 262 value calculated above, that would suit your PC2100 memory very well. You may be able to overclock it some as well. But I doubt if that memory would run with a Conroe processor with 266 FSB. That would result in too much speed for the memory. It may not be able to handle it.

will testing it for another day, if still the same.. go back to 2.10 then

I went back to 2.10...same problem here, the cpu fan at stock rpm all time. Did you read the description at Asrock's web? BIOS 2.20: Fine tune CPU Quiet Fan function...very funny

ASRock 4CoreDual-VSTA

Interesting but this link shows that the 775Dual-VSTA already supports the quad cores when updated to at least the 2.10 BIOS.

Perhaps it's just a name change to make things super clear?

ASRock introduces yet another model the 4CoreDual-VSTA.

You maybe right but the above quote of (another model) makes me think that there is going to be more than a new box print.

I believe that you have to go back to older video cards that only worked with 1X and maybe 2X AGP slots to have a problem. They used 3.3v signaling. Any card that specifies 4x-8X AGP support will use the 1.5v signaling found on current motherboards.
