I have a Crucial 1gb ddr2 667 and it won't boot into Windows.. it POSTs then either has a blinking cursor or a black screen.
I've tried a different slot, stripped down all the hardware, and pretty much all the BIOS settings.
Even with flexibility enabled, 533mhz, 5-5-5-15, maxing out every ram timing, voltage high, it still does doesn't boot or just freezes.
I know it's the ram because i'm using some old 256mb ddr at 166mhz and it will boot Windows, floppy, usb, etc perfectly. I've ordered more ddr2, but i'm afraid they'll be sending me the same Samsung chips
help?
Hi Not really clued up on memory settings but here's what i found recently:
I just purchased 2x 1GB Corsair matched pr DDR2 6400C4
I noticed settings went like this ..checking with everest or CPU-Z set at 667 -333mhz
Default settings with flexability option [enabled]
Cas 4T
tRCD 3T
trp 3T
RAS 9T
Default flex [disabled]
5
5
5
15
Tried a couple of others & they all boot & rub fine obviously not tried full test "Orthos etc"
So basically if memory is sound should boot at these settings ok !
