Asrock socket A motherboard ?

I heard Asrock is a subsidary of asus target entrl level market to compete w/ PCChip/ECS

1. how is asrock board ?

2. have any one use it ?

3. I notice some review on newegg, seems quite ok.

4. I am mainly interested in the All-in-one socket A board, but their socket A board seems to use Sis chipset.

i'be built alot of them using the k7s41gx, rma issues have been mostly nil but it definetely doesnt win in the performance area, the bios is very minimal not many tweaking options at all. If you're just looking for a cheap board for a system thats just going to be used for office, browsing, etc its ok. wouldn't use one myself though

It's good enough for a basic, budget board. It's not directly competing with ECS et al since the latter have spun off Syntax as a direct competitor to AsRock (which was an Asus spinoff and is now its own company). What's wrong with a SiS chipset?

My S754 board is an ASRock (see sig), and it's been great. I'm very satisfied. It's a top performer among A64 boards too. Not feature packed for sure, but stable and fast. That's good enough for me to recommend them.

The ASRock K7S41GX is a value mobo, it is reliable, never had a problem woth my clients, and i made 4 or 5 PC with that mobo.

I've built several systems using the K7S41GX and all work very well. I've used both XP and Duron processors. The onboard video is pretty poor but so far they have all been very stable using WIndows XP. For my money, much better than the ECS lower end boards.
