ok awesome. well after thinking about it. i might just buy everything from micro center. because i was looking at the price's of mc and newegg and the price's are very close. so i was thinking of just saying F it and go a little bit bigger and i have the ground of my ground. but i have a few more qestion's about micro center before i take a nice 2 hour drive to get there.

I was going to get a 650HX cosair but then was like just spend $50 more and get me a 850HX

So my ground build is

Core i920 $199
Asus P6T $229
Memory still debating
XFX 5850 $309.99 or $319.99 from micro center. now if it dont list it on there site does the store have it?
WD black 1TB $99 or WD black 500gb $69
[Debateing on 4 case's]

Antec Twelve Hundred ATX Gaming Case $159.99
Cooler Master HAF932 High Air Flow Full Tower $139
Thermaltake USA Inc V9 Mid Tower Gaming Case $114

LG Electronics - OEM GH22NS40 SATA Super Multi DVD Rewriter OEM $24.99

Debating on these 2 memory's
Patriot Memory Extreme Performance Gaming Series DDR3 6GB (3 x 2GB) PC3-12800 Enhanced Latency DIMM Kit $179.99 $30 MIB
XMS3 6GB DDR3-1600 (PC-12800) CL8 Memory Kit (Three 2GB Memory Modules) Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3-1600 (PC-12800) CL8 Memory Kit (Three 2GB Memory Modules)
SKU: 126656 $209.99 $30 MIB

Samsung 2343BWX-1 23" Widescreen LCD $199.99 Res 2048 x 1152

and maybe Logitech MX-518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse $59.99

Unless you think i can get better deals on the newegg.

I just dont like waiting for parts :X i hate waiting for parts since this will be my first big upgrade in about 4 years i would go the egg but like i said i don't like waiting >.<

Now the reason i am going i7 920 is because i wanna do xfire this summer.

Now with micro center should i call them and ask to speak with a Manager and tell the manager what the deal is that i am going to be spending about $1600-$1700 and i want to make sure everything is at the store and that i dont want no bs, because i live about 2 hours away and i am spending alot of cash at once.

Sorry to ask stupid qestion's but i have been out of the loop for a while and want to have a badazz computer i hope

Well I wouldn't be a ass about it, but I would at least confirm price and availability if all of the items listed are there then I would take the ride down.

If you are going to go through MC use the order ahead option. If they are not in stock, you will get an email saying the store does not have whatever part is out of stock. Then you can decide whether to go and pick up or not.

Another consideration for you is the cost of fuel and sales tax relative to Newegg. Here, our sales tax is 8.125%, so the stuff at MC ends up being somewhat more expensive just from that alone. But, it is nice to have a local place to return it to if something goes wrong.

I agree RMA process can be a good thing or a PITA. Besides heading to a brick and mortar store has it's on problems as well idiot sales people come to mind.

i was going to go to the MI but i found out the Columbus, OH store has Asus 5850 for $279.99 and i did some reading and spent about 4 hours reading about the 5850 crossfire on intel i7 920 vs phii 955 and there anit much differnce between the 2 when playing games @ 1920x1080 so i figured i would go with amd and get 2 5850 for the price it would cost to build a core i7 920 rig. which i think having 2 5850 willl be a much better benfit to me then a single 5850 and core i7 920.

you can correct me if i am wrong and the core i7 920 would furture me more in a way then a amd system.

the reason i figured i would go core i7 920 is because i could pick up the core i7 920 but then i got thinking. why not just buy it all at once and call mc and say hey look i am about to spend $1,600 at your store i want to make you have everything i want and i will order it online and come there and pay it with cash.

And when i do order i am asking to speak to a manager not a floor sales man. because if i drive there and they lie to me i know who to blame.

now the Columbus store is about 2 1/2 hour drive but the MI store does not have the 5850. and there is only 1 mi store while there is 3 ohio stores which are about 30 mins apart from each other. now can they test some of the items before i bring them home. if it was like $200 i would rma but for $1600 or more i dont feel like driving back and stuff like that. plus i dont like waiting for items at all.

and Maybe i would get a sweet sale's man and he would hook me up with a discount for spending so much at once

Also i was thinking of going water cooling. i have never done it but i have spent about 20 hours reading about it and i have good common sense and i have the tools to mod my case if needed.

2 case's i am debateing over

If i go intel Antec Twelve Hundred ATX Gaming Case $159.99
if i go amd COOLER MASTER HAF 932 AMD Limited Edition 179.99

I just want a badass computer plain and simple.

AMD System Asus mobo has 2 full 16x pci-e

Phenom II X4 Quad-Core Processor 955 Black Edition $159.99
M4A79T Deluxe Socket AM3 790FX ATX Motherboard $209.99 -$20 combo 189.99
Corsair XMS3 4GB DDR3-1600 (PC-12800) CL8 Memory Kit $119.99
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 7,200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s $69.99
COOLER MASTER HAF 932 AMD Limited Edition $179.99
Corsair HX 850 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply $199.99
Asus Radeon HD5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Graphics Card $279.99

The price for the amd system Tax in the total price $1515

Intel core i7 920 $199.99
Asus P6T $229.99
Patriot Memory Extreme Performance Gaming Series DDR3 6GB (3 x 2GB) PC3-12800 $179.99
Western Digital Caviar Black 500GB 7,200RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s $69.99
Antec Twelve Hundred ATX Gaming Case $159.99
Corsair HX 850 Watt ATX 12V Power Supply $199.99
Asus Radeon HD5850 1024MB GDDR5 PCIe 2.1 x16 Graphics Card $279.99

the price for the intel system Tax in the total price $1665

Montior Viewsonic VX2433wm 24" Widescreen LCD $239.99 for both system's

Now i just need a Cpu cooler.

If your only concern is gaming either system will be fine. However outside of gaming the intel rig will be faster.

overall looks like a very nice build.
