Is the motherboard still usable or I should buy now a new motherboard.

Only 1 socket pin was removed.

I don't even know how "just one" pin would be removable. I would say "depends on where it is." IIRC it used to be that CPUs had more pins than they actually used, but I haven't seen info about recent chips on this.

If it were me, I would give it a shot and see what happens.

As ketchup79 said, probably try it first and see what happens.

the only way to know is you have to look at the intel tech papers and see what pin it is and what that pin does on the chip

Give it a try, if it connects the on chip memory controller to the DRAM then you just might have limited RAM available but otherwise the board may function.

Looking at the socket 1155 pinout, it looks like a ground pin near the voltage supply. There are tons of ground and voltage pins around it, so IF that pin is the only thing that's wrong with the socket, you'll be fine. Make sure that it's not bent and touching another pin, though, or you could get a short between power and ground.

However, without understanding the history of the board (why/how is that pin disconnected?), it's impossible to say if you'll be able to boot or not. It seems like a strange failure, and makes me wonder about the condition of the other pins and the board itself.

Edit: For reference, here's the link for the socket 1155 pinout: http://www.abload.de/image.php?img=pins_sandyamb4.png. It's from Sandy Bridge, but since SNB and IVB are socket-compatible, it doesn't make a difference. Rotate it 90 degrees clockwise to make it line up with your picture.

I had this on a Z68 board. The board would not boot, only one pin missing, I fabricated a makeshift pin from old wire, soldiered a few strands together(to make it the same size). Popped it in, boom powered right up and over clocked the snot out of it.
Key is not to hurt and other pins in it, you can test it would out the pin it either works or it does not, cut n dry really.
