Bingo

I understand what you are saying, but you gotta remember that we are brothers. There are 4 of us 23, 21, 19,14. We beat up on eachother all the time, I am the oldest, but I am not the strongest or biggest. I didnt even think any thing of it until later that night when my parents started calling me a bunch, then i finally decided to answer and they were like "get home right now.. we need to talk to you" I didnt even realize what their issue was until they brought it up I thought the were mad that i still hadnt sold my car and they were going to have some talk with me.

Your retarded little brother should know not to punch you in the neck just for tickling him... unless he is very young. If anyone punched me in the neck I would be pretty pissed.

edit... Hes 14?! Does he talk with lisp and have a limp wrist as well.

assault is usually the apprehension of unwanted contact. battery is the acutal touching.

an battery doesn't have to be any violent physical contact. in some cases you can be charged with assault without even touching the person.

BTW: Grow Up

Is there some sort of sexual thing involved with this? I don't know of any males who are old enough to be kicked out of their homes who go around tickling their brothers.

Lol, maybe "tickling has the wrong connotation." I grabbed his lower thigh (by the knee...) and was squeezing it makes some people squirm. Have you really not seen this before?

Yeah, with brothers it is common. Your parents probably overreacted, but how was your attitude when they confronted you about it. My guess is you probably were a little belligerent at the time, right? You probably should have just apoligized and told them, you didn't mean to hurt your brother. On the other hand if it is very common for you to act out in violence, I suggest getting some therapy and moving out.

And how old is the brother that you hit?

All else aside, threats like that don't just come out of the blue. There has to be a history of fighting and aggression for most parents to escalate to the point where they're threatening to call the cops.

You're not telling the whole story here.

PS: 24 is too fscking old to still be hitting siblings. I owned a house at that age.

face it, your parents aren't going to call the cops on you. it's an idle threat.

but you need to move out. for some reason you've worn out your welcome.

if you were smarter, you would have known not to hit him in the face!

Yeah seriously, everyone knows you gotta punch where it's not going to leave a mark!

How old is your brother? I'm guessing since he has braces probably early teens?

I think your parents are probably overracting since it's just two brothers messing around, but I don't know the whole story and your background and all that...

1. You should know better than to pick on your brother and then to hit him (drawing blood) when he stands up for himself.
2, Your parents were wrong (morally) to put you out if you had nowhere to go. However, they were certainly within their rights to do so.
3. Yes, what you did was assault and battery.

Yes, this is an assault and battery. No, you don't have the right to hit someone in retaliation, only in self-defense. That argument won't fly because you initiated the contact by squeezing his leg.

Your parents reacted strongly, but frankly it sounds to me like they were looking for an excuse to give you the boot. You're awfully old to be living at home (frankly so are all of your brothers, with the exception of the 14-year-old), and I think you'd be doing everybody involved, yourself included, a favor by leaving their home.

1. Apologize to your brother.
2. Apologize to your parents.
3. Get a roommate and move out.
4. Anger management.

You didn't just put .5 in your age, did you? I think I stopped announcing my "half years" sometime around the age of 12 (and a half).

Then again... perhaps we're getting to the root of the problem.

No, I am not a common violent person. My attitude is not beligerant, I was very calm. I think that my attitude is too apethetic, thats what they have a problem with. I dont go to church anymore, and they dont like that i spend most of my money on snowboarding rather than saving it.

Yes, I realize that, and I was pretty much thinking along the same lines at the time. I just wanted to live there for like 3 more months so i could get my degree and get a job. i was mostly annoyed that they would kick me out and cause so much resentment rather than just waiting for me to finish college and move out on my own. Just seems like a dumb decision on their part, I mean they put 23 years into someone, then they just blow it by acting like asses, but thats just how i feel right now, maybe my feelings will change.

Um... 23.5 years, to be precise.

EDIT: The only dumb decision was made by the guy who connected the back of his hand with his 14-year-old brother's face. Your parents are probably handling you the only way they know how. Tell you what, if my oldest son ever does that to my youngest son once he's past the age of 18, I'll tell him to get out as well.

Hahaha... I have a friend who is a great guy but very insecure. He was talking with a guy in a professional club once and I was hanging out. He kept mentioning how "back when he was 25 things were so different". He was only 26 at the time. Sure there was a few sweeping political reforms in that year, but he could have just said that (Bankruptcy laws, Entitlement reform...). The guy asked him how old he was, which let me tell you was kind of awkward after my friend said that stuff. I just kept my mouth shut about it though.

The guy is a lot less insecure about himself now and is really making it on his own (he got a new job, a girlfriend, he moved out of his folks place...). But it was a little sad having to watch him try so hard in front of people sometimes.
