I ordered one a couple hours ago. Figured it was cheap insurance while I continued to shop for a card. If I don't find one I want with a good price before this ships I can just wait and let it happen. My confirmation email said "delivery expected 10/04 to 10/20. That's a great deal on a card that usually runs at least $240 (and I can wait that long if necessary).

What the hell. I just want everyone to know I've had this exact card on order since Aug. 8th The original ship date was between Aug. 27th - Sept. 3rd. The second updated delivery date was Sept. 7th. The third updated delivery date was Sept. 15-18. Now my expected delivery date is between Sept. 29 - Oct. 19.

I called Amazon in an attempt to find out exacttly what was going on. The lady I spoke with kindly adjusted the price of my order for me, and apologized up and down about the situation, but said she could not give me an honest answer as to whether or not this product will ship before the current expected date, during the date range, or after. She said that amazon has simply not gotten their order from ASUS filled.

This is a good indication of where gtx460 prices will be in 1-2 months. Good to know.

I think its more an Amazon pricing anomaly. The 768MB at most might drop another $10 and the 1GB models haven't budged yet. There's no way they're going to drop $65 by October.

A month wait on a card is a long time, by the time you get it a new generation of graphics card release.

This is exactly why I do most of my business with Amazon and Tigerdirect when I can. That 8.25% tacked on hurts on a large ticket item.

Being one of those '209 price people', I see it a lot less 'funny' and a lot more 'suck about amazon'. I'm ready to put Amazon down next to Dell on my list of disreputable vendors who take orders on items that they have no intention of delivering.
