I have an Abit IP-35 E motherboard, only one PCIE slot, and I have three monitors right now I have one Nvida 6200 LE on the PCIE and one 6200 on the PCI to run the three monitors, I'm debating about upgrading my motherboard or just buying the ASUS 3870X2. For those of you who own the ASUS 3870X2 are you satisfied with it? For me it's a win because of the price of being under $200 ( with rebates even cheaper, but I hate rebates..) I usually don't need to post I find the information I need. Hey this is my 95 post since 9/05/2000 I'm not real talkative. Thanks to all, I do enjoy reading posts, I visit almost daily.

PEACE OUT!

A 3870X2 is one card, not two. That means you can't run three monitors from it, only two. If you're wanting to game, you can add any X16 card you like, but adding another nVidia card would be preferred, so you can use only one driver. As a matter of fact, if you're using Vista, that's your only option, since you can only use one driver with Vista.

Actually, there are HD3870x2 cards with 4 DVI slots. I know ASUS made one and so did GeCube. And you can run up to 4 monitors on those. No idea about how the card runs though, you'd need to wait for others to write about it.

Can't find the GeCube one, perhaps it wasn't released in the end?

Thats why I'm looking at the asus 3870 x2 it has 4 dvi's so I could run 3 monitors. Really don't want to upgrade my MB right now and I think this will give me the most bang for the buck. It's $195 at new egg with a 30 rebate makes it $165 did not know GeCube or his mad them also will have to check them out. Powercolor makes one with 3 div and a hdmi but it's another 100 more than the asus. thanks for the responses If any owned it was just wondering if they are satisfied with it. I think it's my best choice now, should have bought a mb with 2 pcie.
PEACE!

Do the two 6200 cards you've got not provide enough performance or exactly why do you want to upgrade? For just general use your current two card setup probably works fine.

If you want to get into gaming there are better ways to do it. Leave the pci 6200 in there and just upgrade the PCIe 6200 to something faster from nVidia. This will probably be about as fast and likely cheaper to do as well.

Of course, then I find this deal in the hot deals forum.

MSI 3870X2 $210FS -$30 (cc EMCBACBCJ) -$40MIR = $140

That's the lowest price I've ever seen on a 3870X2...jump on it before they're gone.

EDIT: Wow, brain fart...this card only has two DVI outputs.
