It's certainly a better price for the mobo, but with my X2 running @ 2400, it's no longer my bottleneck.

That's a good question oslama. From the Asus website:

LGA775 Socket Intel® Quad-Core/CoreTM Extreme/Pentium D /Pentium 4/Celeron CPU processors
Compatible with Intel® 06/05A/05B processors
Intel® EIST/EM64T/Hyper-Threading Technology/C1E/ TM1/TM2

Isn't that a little strange?

Odd looking PCI layout. That SLI slot really costs on expansion capability, not so sure even a sound card will fit in that if a second vid card was used. Better wait for some sites to perform review.

Well, CoreTM Extreme is a Core 2 duo proc. Since it would be insane if this mb didn't also support other Core 2 duo's, I'm guessing it does. But since this is Intel socket 775, who can really be sure?

The 650i is the little brother to the newly released 680i chipset. Of course it supports
core2.

Keep in mind that Asus lists 412MHz as the max FSB of this board. That may change a lot of people's minds about ordering it, especially those with E6300 or E6400's.

Edit: The 412MHz limitation that was first reported has since been proven wrong.
