Yes, the A7M266 supports the Athlon XP2000+, on the condition that you have BIOS version 1005 or later.

I thought the A7M266 only went up to 1800 XP cpus with the 1005 bios. where did you find this new info?

The Athlon XP 2000+ is definitely supported by the latest BIOS, Version 1006 Beta 01A.

Yes, the Athlon XP processor will fit the socket. The Athlon, Athlon XP and Athlon MP all share the same socket.

also does any one know why my clock keeps tell the wrong time even if i chang it next it's showing the wrong time agian. any idea?

i believe that A7M266 supports up to 1.8Ghz with latest BIOS, and Athlon XP 2000+ is really running at 1.67Ghz

I just purchased an ASUS A7266M motherboard BIOS rev 104 and an AMD XP processor how do I get the BIOS updated
when I can't even boot it??

AMD told me today that Asus A7m266 is not compatable with AMD XP processors. You must use an Asus A7V266-E motherboard.

They are mistaken then. The A7M266 works with AMD 2000+ XP, I have built many systems like this. However, I'm looking for a new AMD platform with the same reliablity as the AMD761 and as soon as I find it and am confident in it's PCI performance, I won't built any more AMD761 systems...

which bios revision are you using to build the 2000+ XP computers? I'd really like to upgrade my 1.2 Athlon to something a bit faster. I'm using revision 1005 at this point.

What are the VIO and VIO1 settings for the A7M266 board rev 1005, BIOS 1005, running an AMD XP 1800+?

Are there any special BIOS settings, like turbo mode?

My husband just bought this mobo at Frys along with an xp1800. Do you guys like this board? I really cannot find out much about it. It is not the dual. Is it nice and stable? I see it only has 2 ddr slots, though! He got it for $79. Ireally wanted the Iwill333 but he got this before I got out of bed today, and he couldn't even wait until 11AM!!!! hehe

anything I should watch out for? I have a sb live value card and an elsa gladiac 32ddr video card, not mx. Thanks for any info you could give me to assist in putting this baby together!
