Asus A7N8X Bios

I just got this motherboard and it has bios 1001g. But on Anand's review and the one at the bios revisions are 1003. Umm where are these bios files? I searched Asus's web site but don't see it anywhere. Is there a site that has this bios for download somewhere? I'm just having some cooky problems that this may solve.

Anand received boards that have a BIOS that has not been released as of yet. People have asked him to email it out as requests, but it has been said that ASUS asked him to not let others use the said bios ( yet? )

That said, you can unlock the multipliers on your motherboard with a simple strand of copper speaker cable ( small thin stuff it is! ) between the responsible pins on the Socket before placing the chip into it. Can't remember the name of the site that has the pics of this for the life of me, but I am sure somenoe else out there can. 12.5x goes to 5.5x I found out by doig this

Some year ASUS will release the BIOS to allow us to use lower or higher multipliers...

The BIOS that shipped with the board locked my T-bred...I updated to the 1001.E (12/16 date) I believe. Not at my home rig so I'm not 100% sure. Anyways, my T-bred is now unlocked

Careful with that...

the 1001.e is for the Deluxe version of the board
The 1001.d is the most recent version for the Non-deluxe version.

There is currently no other versions available on the BIOS download pages at ASUS ( unless you're looking someplace else? ) for Global or United States. Its possible that the Chinese or Taiwan pages haver other stuff, but being I cant read those languages..

Mine shipped with the 1001.g version of the bios and the multipliers were NOT unlocked. It would fail at boot because the CPU was overclocked. I flashed to the 1001.c and am able to select all multipliers now.

No I have not been able to run at 200 MHz FSB. I was able to POST at 10 x 200 but froze at the XP load screen and could boot to windows at 9 x 200, but it was not stable. I am running at 180 x 10.5 @ 1.7v right now. Will probably try higher again later, but my attempts at 200 have failed so far and I'm not sure I want to go higher than 1.7v.

I'm not sure about the 1001.e, but yes after flasing to 1001.c I am able to select all multipliers below 12.5 on my 1800+ T-bred/A7N8X Deluxe.

my A7N8X came with the 1001.g bios. is there a better one out that i should flash instead?

BIOS 1002_01 is definitely much better.

dunno if its been said already, didnt read the thread all the way
1003 is what gives it full unlocking capability...thats why teh reviewers were sent the board with that bios
