Asus A7N8X Deluxe Northbridge Cooling?

I shall be setting up this motherboard this weekend and I am wondering if anyone has removed the thermal tape under the stock northbridge cooler and replaced it with Arctic Silver 3? Do you recommend doing so? And do you follow the same procedures step by step as when you are applying arctic silver to your cpu/heatsink installation?

I always take off the northbridge heatsink on any motherboard I install and replace the TIM with AS3. Yes the procedures are the same, and I specifically recommend that you lap the heatsink as they are frequently not lapped well.

I used Goo Gone.

I did. I sprayed it on the heatsink and let it sit a bit then it just wipes off. Fore the core I use q-tips to just dab it on and again let it sit for a bit. Then use clean q-tips to wipe it off. After all the gunk was gone, I used rubbing alcohol to give a final cleansing.

is it safe to coat the entire northbridge...including the silver part and the black (ceramic?) surrounding the chip?
